Video Consultation During Follow up Surgical Care

Colorectal Cancer

The aim of this study was to compare the willingness to use and attitude towards VC amongst both patients with colorectal cancer and healthcare providers during follow up care. Second, to determine the satisfaction with the quality of the healthcare provider and the usability of the used VC technology. 50 patients will be asked to choose between video consultation or face-to-face contact at the outpatient surgical clinic.

Pheochromocytoma and Hemodynamic Instability

PheochromocytomaHypertension1 more

The aims of our study were to define perioperative HI during laparoscopic adrenalectomy for pheochromocytoma, assess the incidence of perioperative HI, and identify predictive factors of perioperative HI in our group of patients.

Comparison of EUS-FNB Biopsy Techniques of Solid Pancreatic Lesions

Pancreatic Neoplasm

Patients with a diagnosis of solid pancreatic lesions evidenced by imaging studies (CT, MRI) and who undergo endoscopic ultrasound-guided biopsy will be selected. Biopsies will be taken using modified tip needles (FNB) three different methods (capillary by suction, capillary without suction and wet suction). From the results obtained from the pathology service, 3 variables will be assessed; Cellularity, blood contamination and suitability for a diagnosis.

Indocanine Green as Tracer for Lymph Nodes Dissection in Station 253

Rectal CarcinomaSigmoid Colon Carcinoma

This is a prospective randomized controlled study. investigators will randomly assign patients to the indocanine green (ICG) group and control (CL)group to compare the differences of lymph nodes dissection in station 253 between the two groups.

Artificial Intelligence Performance in Colonoscopy in Daily Practice

Colonic PolypAdenoma

randomized, controlled single center, single investigator study mainly in colorectal screening population in daily practice with and without artificial intelliegence (AI) named DiscoveryTM from Pentax medical. Patient randomly are allocated to one of four groups: Pentax i10 colonoscopes without any additional device, Pentax i 10 with DiscoveryTM (AI), Pentax i 10 with EndocuffTM and Pentax i10 with EndocuffTM and DiscoveryTM (AI). The different groups are compared in terms of the different parameters: e.g. time of endoscopy, polyps (PDR) and adenoma detected (ADR).

Pharmacotherapy Personalization of Cancer Patients

Head and Neck NeoplasmsOncologic Patients

Treatment personalization could ensure better outcome than standard procedures. It is particularly important in intensive care units where patients received many drugs and procedures. Their health status can change very fast. The oncologic patients treated in intensive care units are a special group of patients. Factors related to cancer influence extra their health status. The aim of this study is population pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic analysis drugs that are routinely used during an analgosedation in ICU oncologic patients. Analgosedation is monitored by drugs plasma concentration, the depth of sedation (bispectral index) and vital parameters like: systolic and diastolic blood pressure, mean arterial pressure, heart rate. Moreover, the TNM Staging System, biochemical parameters, The American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status classification will be checked like potential factors influencing on pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics drugs used in the study.

Gastric Venous Reconstruction After Total Pancreatectomy

Pancreas CancerPancreatectomy

Total pancreatoduodenectomy (TP) is the standard surgical approach for treatment of extended pancreas tumors. If the gastric coronary vein has to be sacrificed for oncologic or for technical reasons in total pancreatectomy with splenectomy, gastric venous congestion (GVC) may result because all major venous draining routes are terminated. In the sequelae of GVC, gastric venous infarction ultimately leads to gastric perforation with abdominal sepsis. To avoid gastric venous infarction, partial or even total gastrectomy is usually performed in the event of GVC after TP. However, this significantly impacts the patient's quality of life. Reconstruction of gastric venous outflow represents a technical approach to overcome GVC and to avoid gastric venous infarction making (partial) gastrectomy unnecessary. The current study aims to assess the role of gastric venous outflow reconstruction in GVC after TP to prevent (partial) gastrectomy.

Cholesterol Metabolites Analysis in Human Thyroid and Iodine Resistance

Thyroid Cancer

The study team previously shown that a cholesterol metabolite, dendrogenin A (DDA) differentiates anaplastic thyroid cancer cell lines and that its mRNA expression is diminished in human radioiodine refractory thyroid cancer samples. The team aim to quantify via mass spectrometry and immunohistochemistry DDA and other cholesterol metabolites in thyroid cancer versus healthy thyroid tissue human samples.
