Lymphoma in the Orbit

Ocular Adnexal Mucosa-Associated Lymphoid Tissue Lymphoma

Imaging techniques have considerably improved over the last decades and ocular adnexal lymphomas (OALs) nowadays can be detected. As major advances in immunophenotyping and molecular diagnostics in histology have been achieved offering an accurate diagnosis, the investigators would like to introduce that surgical biopsy of an orbital lymphoma becomes crucial for the possibility of a correct diagnosis and proper treatment. As radiotherapy accomplished great preciseness as well and OALs respond excellently to radiation, this therapy should be the treatment of choice in local defined lymphomas instead of blind treatment with steroids. Radiation results in great local control rates of 85% to 100% Trial with surgical intervention

Development of a Versatile Intra-operative On-screen Audiovisual Mentoring System Using TileproTM...

Stomach Cancer

Considering the development of gastric cancer surgery using da Vinci Robotic Surgical System, the development of educational program needs to be achieved in Korea and this institute. Moreover, because of the large number of gastrectomy including robotic surgery for gastric cancer treatment, the investigators can provide high quality of educational program using da Vinci System. Therefore, the investigators wanted to create an innovative real-time training module, which can provide an intraoperative step-by-step guide to robotic surgical procedures. This technological project was named as Advanced Robotic Multi-display Educational System (ARMES).

Usefulness of Calprotectin for Colon Adenoma Screening

Colon Adenoma

The fecal calprotectin assay is used widely for inflammatory bowel disease diagnosis and the assessment of the disease activity. Some adenoma patients have elevated fecal calprotectin level, which could mean the role of fecal calprotectin as a screening marker for colon adenoma. We will investigate the usefulness of fecal calprotectin as colon adenoma marker for screening in this study.

Early Diagnosis of Malignant Transformation of Pigmentary Skin Lesions

Malignant MelanomaPigmented Nevi1 more

Malignant Melanoma is a deadly skin cancer that can be cured if diagnosed early. To date atypical pigmented skin lesions are diagnosed by appearance alone and many moles and lesions are excised unnecessarily and on the other hand malignant lesions are missed and diagnosed too late. In this study a protein conjugated to a florescent dye is spread on a suspicious pigmented lesion, the hypothesis is that this protein binds to malignant cells only and thus with a special camera that picks up the dye we can find pigmented lesions with early malignant transformation.

Evaluation of a New CZT System

Parathyroid AdenomaThyroid Adenoma

The purpose of the study is to check if the new CZT system has an advantage in detection of small osseous processes, thyroid adenomas, parathyroid adenomas and detection of sentinel node, in comparison with the techniques in use. Participants: 100 subjects male and female that come to the institute of nuclear medicine for routine screening examinations. The CZT screening takes 10 minutes and does not require any extra intervention to the routine screening.
