Epidemiological Study to Describe Non-small-cell Lung Carcinoma (NSCLC) Clinical Management Patterns...

NSCLC Patient Characteristics

The study is to provide accurate, reliable information on NSCLC clinical management across MENA (Middle East North Africa) countries in order to detect unmet medical needs of this disease, it is a purely observational study; therefore patients are not assigned to a particular therapeutic strategy beforehand by a protocol. Treatment will be according to current clinical practice.

Predictive Value of FMISO-PET, FDG-PET-CT, DWI-MRI and DCE-MRI Scans for Patients With Anal Cancer...

Anal Cancer

The purpose of the study is to evaluate the predictive value of 18F-fluoromisonidazol-PET (FMISO-PET), 2-18F-fluoro-2-deoxy-d-glukose-PET-CT (FDG-PET-CT), Diffusion-Weighted Magnetic Resonance Imaging (DWI-MRI) and Dynamic Contrast-Enhanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging (DCE-MRI) for patients with anal cancer receiving radiation therapy +/- chemotherapy (Cisplatin and 5-FU).

A Prospective Study of Pharmacogenetic Factors and Gene Expression Profile

Colon Cancer

This study is a parallel translational study of a Randomized Phase III trial Investigating the Role of Oxaliplatin duration (6 Cycles Versus 12 Cycles) in modified FOLFOX-6 Regimen as Adjuvant Therapy for Patients with Stage II/III Colon Cancer (MIDAS trial: protocol NCCCTS-467) . Patients participating in the trial will be provided with the informed consent of this parallel study, and peripheral blood and tumor tissue of those who signed the consent will be collected for germline polymorphism analysis and gene expression profile study .

Neutrophil Extracellular Traps (NETs) Formation Following Chemotherapy and Their Role in Antitumor...

Pediatric Solid MalignanciesPediatric Hematological Malignancies

Examine neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) formation, in relation to other neutrophil functions like chemotaxis, superoxide production, hydrogen peroxide production, and the presence of myeloperoxidase, in pediatric patients undergoing chemotherpy for solid and hematological malignancies. This data could shed new light on the mechanism responsible for the increased susceptibility to infection among these patients and aid in improving their prophylactic antimicrobial treatment. NETs formation against tumor cell lines and their ability to kill tumor cells will also be examined. The finding of NETs activity against tumor cells could have a major contribution to the investigators understanding of the function of the immune system against cancer.

Validation of Two New Questionnaires for Dupuytren's Disease

Dupuytren's Disease

A study to validate two newly developed questionnaires for Dupuytren's Disease. The objective is to develop a patient specific outcomes tool for Dupuytren's Disease. While there are standard and validated questionnaire instruments used to measure health related quality of life and function, they do not address patient specific issues. The investigators will also pilot a treatment/disease specific satisfaction questionnaire for Xiaflex use for Dupuytren's Disease.

The Molecular Predisposition to Hereditary Nonpolyposis Colon Cancer (HNPCC)

Bladder CancerColorectal Cancer4 more

The goal of this study is to understand factors which may influence risk for colorectal and other cancers in families. These factors include genetic variability, in combination with diet and lifestyle. In order to achieve these goals, we need to contact as many eligible participants as possible.

Gene Expression, Immunological Status and Metabolome in Glioma Patients

Glioma

Study on glioma patients treated with brain surgery is focusing on the analysis of their transcriptome expression profile measured in two immune cell populations, CD4+ T cells and CD56+ NK cells. The results of analysis will be compared to the reference data of healthy population. Furthermore, the metabolomic and immunological status will also be monitored and compared to healthy group reference data, before and after the surgery*. With comparative crossomics analysis the investigators intend to possibly identify new diagnostic and prognostic biological markers for the relapse of the disease. The results are expected to convey a deeper insight into pathophysiology of the glioma as well as into the mechanisms of the current surgical therapy. * The healthy reference data have been published in collaborative efforts of BTC, UMC and NIB (Gruden et al. 2012).

Study of Prevalence of Colorectal Adenoma in 30- to 49-year-old Subjects With a Family History of...

Colorectal Neoplasms

Current guidelines for initiating screening colonoscopies in patients younger than 50 years of age who have a first relative history of colorectal cancer are controversial. The aim of this study was to prospectively define the prevalence of colorectal adenoma 30- to 49-years-old asymptomatic subjects with a first relative history of colorectal cancer and to compare the data with controls. Design: Single-center prospective study

EPISPOT Detection of Circulating Prostate Cells Among Adenocarcinoma Patients

Adenocarcinoma of the Prostate

The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the predictive value (in terms of remission) of a new technique for detecting circulating, functional, prostate cells among patients with localized adenocarcinoma of the prostate, and prior to any treatment.
