Dynamic Changes of Circulating Tumor DNA in Late Stage NSCLC Patients

CarcinomaNon-Small-Cell Lung5 more

A multi-centre observational, non-interventional study is to dynamically monitor the changes of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in late stage NSCLC patients under Gefitinib treatment.

Acquired Resistant Mechanism of the First-generation EGFR TKIs

Non-small Cell Lung CancerAquired Resistance1 more

Patients with advanced non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) harboring sensitive epithelial growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutations invariably develop acquired resistance to EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs). Identification of actionable genetic mutations can be helpful for guiding the subsequent treatment. This study aimed to analyze the genetic profile of NSCLC harboring acquired resistance to the first-generation EGFR TKIs using next generation sequencing (NGS).

Verification of Novel Survival Prediction Algorithm for Patients With NSCLC Spinal Metastasis

Spinal MetastasesNon-Small-Cell Lung Cancer Metastatic

The purpose of this study is to learn whether our own made predictive algorithm can be used as a clinical practical decision support for patients with NSCLC spinal metastasis. The scoring system consists of the use of EGFR-TKI, KPS, Age, SCC, CA125 and smoking history. By predicting survival doctors could determine which patients are suitable for palliative therapy.

Comparing Measurements Made in an Incremental Shuttle Walk Test and a Cardiopulmonary Exercise Test...

Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis

Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a chronic and potentially fatal lung disease. As IPF progresses, patients become increasingly breathless with reduced exercise capacity and quality of life. A cardiopulmonary exercise test (CPET) is a gold standard way of assessing patients with IPF. An incremental shuttle walk test is simpler, cheaper, more widely available and anecdotally preferable to CPET. The investigators will compare the measurements made in an ISWT and a CPET in patients with IPF . We aim to determine whether sufficient information can be gathered in an ISWT to negate the need to undertake CPET.

Respiratory Microbiome in COPD and Associated Inmune Response.

Pulmonary Disease (COPD)Chronic Obstructive

Hypothesis: COPD patients with frequent exacerbations have different pulmonary and systemic immune response than COPD patients without frequent exacerbations and this is related to their microbiome.

Epidemiology of Post-influenza Bacterial Pneumonia Due to a Panton-Valentine Leukocidin Positive...

InfluenzaStaphylococcus Aureus Pneumonia1 more

Secondary bacterial influenza pneumonia caused by Panton-Valentine Leukocidin Positive Staphylococcus aureus is a rare complication but with poor prognosis. This pathology seems to affect young patients (20-40 years) without any medical history. Since the influenza pandemic of 2009, this complication is more and more mentioned, sought and diagnosed. However, the literature is poor, consisting of case reports, experimental studies on murine models, and low-power studies. The main objective is to evaluate the mortality in intensive care units of patients post-influenza bacterial pneumonia due to a Panton-Valentine Leukocidin positive Staphylococcus aureus

Duration of Protection From Pneumonia After Pneumococcal Vaccination in Hemodialysis Patients

CKD (Chronic Kidney Disease) Stage 5DPneumonia

The investigators compare two strata of vaccinated patients: those recently vaccinated and those vaccinated more than two years ago. The primary objective is to compare pneumonia rates between the groups. As exploratory objectives, the investigators will describe the anti-pneumococcal antibody titers in hemodialysis patients as a function of time since vaccination, and determine factors influencing antibody kinetics. Further exploratory objectives investigate the relationship between antibody titers and the incidence of pneumonia in hemodialysis patients and extrapolate a possible cut-off for protection from pneumonia.
