Phase II Study of AVX/COVID-12 Vaccine in Subjects With Prior SARS-CoV-2 Immunity Evidence

This is a Phase II study with single-blinded safety phase followed by double-blinded randomization, placebo-controlled, of administration of a single dose by two different administration routes (intramuscular route or intranasal route), to evaluate immunogenicity and safety of the recombinant SARS-CoV-2 vaccine (AVX/COVID-12 vaccine) based a live Newcastle disease viral vector (rNDV) in 396 healthy subjects with evidence of prior immunity to SARS-CoV-2, followed by a booster response assessment with an intramuscular dose of COVID-19 vaccine (ChAdOx-1 -S[recombinant]) in subjects originally randomized to the placebo arm at several research sites in Mexico City.

The current Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic continues to be a worldwide health emergency. To contain the spread of disease, high demands on testing availability and capacity are observed. Although polymerase chain reaction (PRC) is the golden standard method in detecting infection with COVID-19, the procedure is time consuming and requires healthcare personnel and laboratories. Rapid antigen tests, however, have several potential benefits including greater scalability and results are provided much quicker. So far, sampling for rapid antigen tests is predominantly performed by health care personnel. Though, the testing and analyzing procedure of an antigen test seems manageable by laymen but the validity of a self-performed rapid antigen test is sparsely examined. Thus, the investigators wish to conduct a study evaluating the diagnostic accuracy of self-performed rapid antigen test for detecting COVID-19 infection by comparing self-performed and healthcare-performed rapid antigen tests on the same individual while using a PCR tests as a control.

This was a non-randomized, three-armed, open-label, parallel-group, non-inferiority trial designed to compare the immunogenicity and safety of the SpikoGen COVID-19 vaccine in children aged 5 to <12 years and 12 to <18 years with adults aged 18 to 40 years. Children aged 12 to <18 years and adults received 25 µg of the recombinant protein together with 15 mg of Advax-SM. Children aged 5 to <12 years received a half-dose of the adjuvanted vaccine. The injection was given in two doses with a 21-day interval in the deltoid muscle of the non-dominant arm. The vaccine immunogenicity was evaluated at 14 days after the second dose. Solicited adverse events were recorded for 7 days after each vaccination. Unsolicited adverse events were collected through one month after the second dose. Safety monitoring was continued through six months after the second dose in children aged 5 to <12 years and 12 to <18 years.

The aim of this study is to determine whether a community-informed, linguistically and culturally tailored educational program delivered via mobile phone is effective in improving vaccination behaviors among Latino families. Thus we evaluate a community-based mobile phone intervention (mivacunaLA) to assess if there is an increase in vaccination rates among 12-17 year old children and willingness to vaccinate 2-11year old children who have not been previously vaccinated who reside in high-risk and low resourced neighborhoods in Los Angeles.

TAFFIX is a nasal powder spray that immediately creates a protective acidic barrier on the nasal mucosa against infection by inhaled viruses. The protective barrier lasts 5 hours. TAFFIX is approved as a medical device in Israel, intended for use to block inhaled viruses within the nasal cavity. In Europe, it is registered as a medical device indicated for use as a protective mechanical barrier against allergens and viruses (e.g., SARS-CoV-2) within the nasal cavity. TAFFIX is used as additional safety mean together with masks, hygiene, and social distancing. The study rationale is to evaluate whether daily use of TaffiX™ as prophylaxis will reduce the rate of SARS- CoV-2 infection and other upper respiratory infections, compared to the placebo control rate.

Clinical Evaluation for Batch Consistency of Ad5-nCoV in Chinese Healthy Adults

This is a randomized, double-blind, parallel-controlled, equivalence trial, for evaluation of safety and immunogenicity, and batch-to-batch consistency of a recombinant adenovirus type-5-vectored Covid-19 vaccine Convidecia in one shot schedule in Chinese healthy adults aged 18 years and above. In total 1050 healthy adults will be recruited in this study. Subjects in both cohort will be randomized stratified into two cohort by age(18~59 years and≥60 years) in a 1:1:1 ratio to receive one of three consecutive batches of Convidecia. The primary objective is to test the equivalence of the immune responses to three consecutive manufacturing lots of Convidecia in healthy adults. The secondary objectives were to evaluate the immunogenicity and safety of Convidecia for each lot and the pooled data of three lots)
