Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is potentially a deadly disease caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) that targets the lung mainly, resulting in respiratory tract infections in humans. It has developed into a pandemic with serious global public health problems. Recent research has shown that the new SARS-CoV-2 variants reduces the efficacy of the vaccinations and are predominantly more transmissible or infective. A few countries namely Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, and Turkey have recently started introducing a booster dose following primary two doses of the COVID-19 immunization series. This study aims to identify which booster dose is more effective; taking a booster dose from the same vaccine initially taken or a booster dose from a different vaccine than initially taken.

The worldwide health system has been marked by the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. French educational system has been upset, especially medical schools, which, because of their hospital location, are particularly exposed to the spread of the virus. The medical school of Paris-Saclay University, located within bicetre University Hospital, AP-HP, must therefore adapt on a daily basis to ensure educational continuity. Taking advantage of an exceptional scientific ecosystem, innovative viral epidemic propagation modeling approaches based on both simulation and contact tracing data will be tested in real-life conditions. These propagation models will serve to scientifically optimize future educational organization procedures in this medical school.

Evidence suggests coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is associated with an increased incidence of thromboembolic manifestations. Various guidelines on managing antithrombotics in COVID-19 either provided conflicting guidance or unclear recommendations for post-discharge thromboprophylaxis. The investigators aim to collect the current practices in India among physicians on antithrombotic therapy for hospitalised patients with COVID-19 and after discharge from the hospital.

Participants were assigned randomly into two groups, aerobic exercise and resistance exercise groups. All participants in both groups followed the WHO guidelines of quarantine and used standardized medications given by the physician according to the Turkish Ministry of Health guidelines, including the Hydroxyclorocin Sulphate 200 Mg Film Tablet (Plaquenil 200 Mg Film Tablet). The dose was 2 times/ day, 200Mg/time, for 5 days. Besides, the aerobic exercise group performed moderate-intensity aerobic exercises for 40 min/ 3 sessions/week, 40 minute/session, and the resistance exercise groups 40 min/ 3 sessions/week, 40 minute/session.

Background: Lymphopenia is reported to be associated with the severity of disease progression in COVID-19. Low lymphocyte count is also associated with increasing age. No study has yet investigated the effects of lymphopenia in this disease on the outcome in elderly people. Objectives: To assess the outcome of lymphopenia in elderly patients having COVID-19 and its usefulness as prognostic factor in elderly people. Methods: Retrospective cohort study. Clinical data (medical history, comorbidities, treatments, geriatric syndromes) and biological parameters will be collected from 100 hospitalized geriatric COVID-19 patients (> 70 yrs.) (Group 1) and 100 hospitalized geriatric patients (> 70 yrs.) presenting with acute infection other than COVID-19 (Group 2) and will be compared according to the presence/absence of lymphopenia. A third Group (3) will be studied to assess the influence of comorbidities on lymphopenia consisting of healthy aged elderly (> 70 yrs.).

Given the global dimensions of the current pandemic, there is to consider the possible large-scale neurocognitive impact of COVID-19. We collected objective data on all patients admitted to the surgical department with appendicitis during February 2020 - March 2020 compared to the same 2 month period in 2019, to understand the pandemic's affect on the rate of complications of acute appendicitis.

A new coronavirus, called severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV2) appeared in Wuhan, China and it arrived to Europe 2-3 months later. Hundreds of good quality articles were published during this period to study the relationship and effects of this virus on pregnancy and vice versa, as well as to determine the adverse neonatal and obstetrical outcomes following the infection. In a case-control study using propensity score matching at the level of age, body mass index and comorbidities (diabetes, hypertension, asthma), pregnant women over 20 week's gestation had significantly higher risk for intensive care unit stay, endotracheal intubation, hospitalization for disease related symptoms and need for oxygen therapy. A new systematic review also demonstrated increased risk for ICU admission in pregnant women compared to non-pregnant women and to non-infected pregnant women. On the other hand, many researchers have demonstrated that the rates of preterm delivery and cesarean delivery have increased as well, others reported a close relation between SARS-CoV2 infection and preeclampsia or preeclampsia like condition. Enormous effort was done in order to understand adverse outcomes related to this infection, however, most studies included patients in the third or late second trimester.
