Nursing Perspective on Burnout and Medical Errors in the Intensive Care Unit During Covid-19 Pandemic...

BurnoutProfessional2 more

The investigators plan to perform an observational study to evaluate the prevalence of burnout, depression and medical errors in a designated exclusive Covid-19 patients hospital in Malaysia, during the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition, the relationship between burnout and depression with medical errors will be assessed. The population studied will be the nurses working in the Intensive Care Unit, who are at higher risk due to the nature of their work at the frontlines of the pandemic.

Screening of Cancer Patients to Assess Impact of COVID-19

Covid-19Cancer

The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of COVID -19 in the cancer patient population. This will be done by looking at the rate of asymptomatic COVID-19 infection in cancer patients receiving cancer therapy, as well as their immune response. This is a sub-study of the U-DEPLOY study: UHN Umbrella Trial Defining Coordinated Approach to Pandemic Trials of COVID-19 and Data Harmonization to Accelerate Discovery. U-DEPLOY helps to facilitate timely conduct of studies across the University Health Network (UHN) and other centers.

Lollipop COVID-19 Testing Study

COVID-19SARS CoV 2 Infection1 more

This study will explore whether lollipop swabs are more acceptable and perform as well as nasal swabs with PCR testing. The study will be open to enrollment for both children and adults in the Madison community who have at least one COVID-19 symptom that has presented in the last 5 days and who have not had a positive COVID-19 test for a previous illness within the past 3 months. Participants can expect to be in the study for the duration of the swabbing, approximately 10 minutes.

COVID-19 Serological Testing of Patients With a Mental Disorder From the Catchment Area of the Capital...

Covid19Severe Mental Disorder

The pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has lately caused worldwide health problems. Patients suffering from a severe mental disorder are at increased risk for infectious diseases. The primary aim of the present surveillance study is to perform COVID-19 serological testing on patients with a diagnosis of schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder or a bipolar affective disorder. Patients from the catchment area of the Capital Region of Denmark will be COVID-19 tested at baseline (0 months) and again at 6 and 12 months, in order to follow the spread of COVID-19 among this vulnerable patient population.

A Wearable, Battery-free Screening System for SARS-CoV-2, the Virus Causing COVID-19 Infection

Covid19

The corona virus disease (COVID) pandemic has highlighted the importance of rapid, readily available screeners and diagnostics to identify infected individuals. Recent studies have demonstrated that portable electronic nose sensing devices can detect volatile organic compounds (VOCs). These compounds are end products of human metabolism or of enteric bacteria and are excreted through the skin or exhaled breath. Importantly, the sensing devices can be adapted into a wearable device providing continuous monitoring. Our goal is to develop a battery-free, electronic nose sensor to serve as a screener and detect VOC patterns associated to patients with symptomatic and asymptomatic COVID-19 without being invasive. To test the screening ability, devices will be worn by COVID-19 positive and negative patients hospitalized at Nebraska Medicine.

Face Masks to Reduce SARS-CoV-2 Infections (COVID-19) in Bangladesh

Covid19

The primary goal of the village-level intervention is to assess whether mask-wearing reduces community-level asymptomatic and symptomatic SARS-CoV-2 infections, assessed via PCR testing. The study also examines if community-based activation through values or individual activation through information results in higher mask-wearing.

Biomarkers for Dexamethasone Response in Sars-Cov-2 / COVID-19 Pneumonia

PneumoniaViral1 more

The primary objective of this study is to demonstrate (at the time of admission) biomarkers of interest (Human Plasma BAK125 panel + interferon panel) for dexamethasone responders versus non-responders in SARS-CoV-2 hypoxemic pneumonia. The secondary objectives are to describe and compare between groups: The number of days without mechanical ventilation The need for mechanical ventilation 28-day mortality Progression towards acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) Change in the qSOFA score Length of hospitalization The change in the extent of lesions on thoracic computed tomography scan between inclusion and D7 (or the day of discharge from hospital if <D7) Change in biomarkers on D0, D2, D4, D7 (NFS, liver tests (ASAT, ALAT), Creatinine, Albumin, CRP, D-dimers, Ferritin, LDH, lymphocyte phenotyping) Demonstrate other biomarkers of interest from the usual management (NFS, liver function tests (ASAT, ALAT), Creatinine, Albumin, CRP, D-dimers, Ferritin, LDH, lymphocyte phenotyping) Change in biomarkers evaluated by mass spectrometry (on a blood sample) on D0 and D7 +/- 2 days The initial viral load (within 48 hours preceding D0) and at D7 of inclusion estimated from the nasopharyngeal SARS-CoV-2 RT-PCR Initial SARS-CoV-2 serology and on D7 from inclusion The A38G polymorphism of the gene coding for Club Cell Secretory Protein (CCSP) for each patient Short-term complications related to corticosteroid therapy The quantitative and qualitative impact of corticosteroid therapy on lymphocytes from patients with COVID-19.

Antigen Rapid Test Screening to Prevent SARS-CoV-2 Transmission (COVID-19) at Mass Gathering Events....

Covid19

To investigate the impact of rapid antigen testing for Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Corona Virus-2 (SARS-CoV-2), the investigators plan to conduct a large trial to assess the impact of using rapid tests to screen people before participating at a mass gathering event, i.e. a music concert. Among participants who wish to attend and fulfill the inclusion criteria, half will be offered access to rapid testing and concert (provided the test is negative), and the other half will not. Allocation will be by randomisation. A week after the concert both groups will be tested by means of a standard PCR-test.

EuGeni Rapid Antigen Test for the Qualitative Detection of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus...

SARS-CoV-2 Infection

Rapid antigen detection (RAD) tests are used to perform rapid diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 infection based on a qualitative approach. RAD tests detect the viral antigen by the immobilized coated SARS-CoV-2 antibody placed on the device. The results of these tests are available in a short time, reducing the workload in diagnostic hospitals and laboratories and improving the turn-around time. EuGeni SARS-CoV-2 Antigen Rapid Diagnostic Test is an in vitro Diagnostic (IVD) medical device intended to be used for the qualitative detection of SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid antigen. The result from this IVD test identifies the presence or absence of the SARS-CoV-2 antigen as an aid for the diagnosis of COVID-19 infection.

Mental Health Consequences of COVID19 Infection in the French RMD Cohort

Covid19Systemic Autoimmune Disease2 more

this observational, cross-sectional, national, comparative study, including RMD patients followed in hospital centres of the FAI²R Rare Diseases Healthcare Pathway network and specialist private practitioners caring for patients suffering from inflammatory rheumatism, systemic autoimmune diseases and auto-inflammatory diseases. The objective of the study is to compare RMD patients with COVID 19 infection (cases) to RMD patients who have not had COVID 19 infection (controls) on their mental health.
