Acne VulgarisIn this study the topical use of cream with live probiotic bacteria was evaluated for its efficacy in reducing acne symptoms and its effect on the skin microbiota on patients with acne vulgaris. Patients with mild to moderate acne used the probiotic cream for 8 weeks and clinical evaluation and microbiological sampling was done at start, 2, 4, 8 and 12 weeks (after 4 weeks without use of the product). Next-Generation Sequencing is used to analyze the skin microbiota of the patients.

During the 12-week treatment period subjects randomized to DFD-03 Lotion or Vehicle Lotion will use the study drug twice daily. Subjects randomized to Tazorac Cream or Vehicle Cream will use the study drug once daily in the evening. Safety assessments will include the investigator's assessment of local cutaneous tolerance/application site reactions on the face, vital signs and adverse events.

The study aims to determine whether treatment with daylight as an illumination source is as effective as conventional, red light illumination. 15 patients with acne vulgaris received 4 treatment sessions at three-week intervals. First, 5-aminolevulinic acid (ALA) was applied to the entire face. Then the face was divided into two symmetrical contralateral treatment areas: the left was covered with a light-impermeable dressing, while the right face was exposed to sunlight. After 2 hours outdoors, the right side of the face was covered, and the left half was illuminated with red light.

Acne VulgarisThe study was 8 weeks, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial to assess the effect of zinc sulphate on symptoms of mild and moderate acne vulgaris in 122 patients. Participants was assessed at baseline, and 8 weeks. Subjects was randomized to receive either 20 mg elemental zinc daily or 20 mg placebo tablet daily for 8 weeks. The primary outcome was the measure of the GAGS score and the secondary measure includes serum zinc level and evaluate adverse effects.

Acne VulgarisObjective: Clinical trial carried out to evaluate the superiority of efficacy of a treatment regimen with an oral probiotic associated with a fixed combination of 0.1% adapalene and 2.5% benzoyl peroxide compared to an oral placebo with the same topical treatment in patients with mild to moderate acne. Patients and Methods: This was a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study conducted with 212 patients aged from 12 to 35 years; 107 in the test treatment arm and 105 in the comparator arm. The study was divided into two phases of 90 days each, totaling 180 days. In the first phase, patients received treatment with 2.5% benzoyl peroxide and 0.1% adapalene associated with a probiotic (IT), or 2.5% benzoyl peroxide and 0.1% adapalene associated with placebo (CT). In the second phase (90 days), patients received only oral treatment with a probiotic or placebo. Efficacy criteria were: reduction of the Investigator Global Assessment (IGA) scale to 0 or 1, and reduced lesion count.

Acne ScarThe purpose of this study was to compare the Efficacy of Topical Tazarotene gel 0.1% versus Microneedling in atrophic Post acne scars. All patients of age 18-40 years, with grade 2 to grade 4 facial atrophic acne scars, assessed using the Goodman and Baron qualitative global scarring grading. Group A was given daily home application of Topical Tazarotene gel 0.1% while on Group B, Microneedling monthly sessions done for 12 weeks. The results were assessed by photographs, Goodman and Baron Qualitative Acne Scars Grading system at the start and end of treatment. SPSS 21 was used for data analysis which showed comparable efficacy of daily home based application of Topical Tazarotene gel 0.1% versus Microneedling monthly sessions in Atrophic Post Acne Scars.
