Explorative study to investigate potential predictors of myocardial injury, acute kidney injury and pulmonary disorder after acute high-risk abdominal surgery.

The endothelin (ET) system is an active target in human Acute Kidney Injury (AKI). Our primary hypothesis is that the circulating blood concentration of ET will be higher in patients with AKI than in matched controls.

Acute kidney injury (AKI) is one of the most important factors associated with increased mortality in patients with acute-on-chronic liver failure (AoCLF). Early identification and treatment of this subgroup of patients may improve survival and decrease ICU length of stay. As kidney ischemia is one of the main mechanisms responsible for AKI in AoCLF, an increase in urinary to arterial partial pressure of oxygen may help in the early diagnosis of renal failure. For this arterial and urinary oxygen pressure will be measured at ICU admission, on day 1 and day 3 of ICU stay. Diagnosis of AKI within the first 28 days after ICU admission will be recorded

The study aims to identify the preoperative parameters associated with the risk of postoperative acute kidney injury (in particular the parameters of the SPARK score) in patients of the Besançon University Hospital who have undergone digestive or vascular surgery.

Evaluation of non-invasive prognostic parameters in patients developing ACLF and renal failure in patients receiving and not receiving transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS). Patients are cared according to the local standardized follow up program. Clinical and laboratory data from standard patient care are evaluated for potential prognostic value.

The Accuryn Registry Study is an open-ended, global, multi-center, retrospective and prospective, single-arm data collection study with an FDA cleared device.
