Urokinase-type Plasminogen Activator Receptor and Gastroesophageal Cancer
Esophagus CancerAdenocarcinomaThe aim of this study is to investigate urokinase Plasminogen Activator Receptor (uPAR) microexpression in gastroesophageal cancer (adenocarcinomas) both qualitatively and semi-quantitatively and to evaluate if it offers a possibility for future imagining purposes.
An Observational Study of Tarceva (Erlotinib) in Participants With Locally Advanced or Metastatic...
Non-Squamous Non-Small Cell Lung CancerThis multicenter, observational study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of Tarceva (erlotinib) in participants with locally advanced or metastatic adenocarcinoma non-small cell lung cancer and an ECOG performance status of 0-1. Eligible participants receiving Tarceva according to the Summary of Product Characteristics and local label will be followed for the duration of their treatment.
Ovarian Clear Cell Adenocarcinoma Review
Ovarian CystsClear cell carcinoma comprises 5-10% of surface epithelial ovarian cancers, and about 30-40% of the patients with clear cell carcinoma are diagnosed in the advanced stage. The investigators studied the response to chemotherapy and survival for either paclitaxel-platinum based chemotherapy or conventional platinum-based chemotherapy among all stages clear cell ovarian carcinoma. Prognostic factors for survival among the patients with pure, advanced, clear cell ovarian carcinoma were also evaluated.
Study of Two Techniques of Rectal Reservoir in Low Anterior Resection of Rectum
Low Rectal AdenocarcinomaThe aim of the study CGD-01/2000 was to investigate wheter a transverse coloplasty pouch is able to improve functional results and quality of life after coloanal anastomosis.
Patients Overexposed for a Prostate Adenocarcinoma
Prostate AdenocarcinomaBackground: Between 2000 and 2006, 433 patients were overexposed (8% to 10%) during a course of conformal radiotherapy for a prostate adenocarcinoma in Jean MONNET hospital, Epinal, France. Among them, twenty four patients received an additional mean dose about 20%, due to an inappropriate use of the treatment planning system. Severe adverse events (proctitis, cystitis, and tissue necrosis) have occurred among most of these overexposed patients. We propose to develop several research programs in order to increase the scientific knowledge on iatrogenic effects related to overexposure of ionizing radiation, by studying their relationship with dosimetric, clinical, biologic and genetic characteristics. Aim of the study: To correlate the received doses, the volume of irradiated normal tissues, the events, with biologic, phenotypic and genetic data. Primary study endpoint: Incidence and severity of adverse events related to radiotherapy (according to SOMA - LENT and CTCAE scales).
Diet and Physical Activity Change or Usual Care in Improving Progression-Free Survival in Patients...
Fallopian Tube Clear Cell AdenocarcinomaFallopian Tube Endometrioid Adenocarcinoma31 moreThis randomized phase III trial studies whether changes in diet and physical activity can increase the length of survival without the return of cancer (progression-free survival) compared with usual care in patients with previously treated stage II, III, or IV ovarian, fallopian tube, or primary peritoneal cancer. A healthy diet and physical activity program and counseling may help patients make healthier lifestyle choices. It is not yet known whether changes in diet and exercise may help increase progression-free survival in patients with previously treated cancer.
Contrast Enhanced Harmonic Endoscopic Ultrasound (CEH-EUS) in Focal Pancreatic Masses
Adenocarcinoma PancreasChronic PancreatitisThe aim of the study is to assess the accuracy of real-time perfusion imaging pattern of pancreatic focal lesions visualized by contrast-enhanced harmonic endoscopic ultrasound (CEH-EUS) for the differential diagnosis between chronic pseudotumoral pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer in a prospective multicenter design. The study will include patients with focal pancreatic masses evaluated by CEH-EUS and EUS-FNA. The diagnosis is usually unknown in the moment of the initial evaluation, the patients being included based on a suspicion of focal pancreatic masses after transabdominal ultrasound, CT or MR examinations. However, after a complete evaluation, a final diagnosis will be reached based on the combination of EUS-FNA cytology/pathology, surgical pathology and minimum 12 months follow-up.
Exploration of Circulating VE-cadherin in Metastatic Colorectal Adenocarcinoma Patients Treated...
Colorectal CancerMetastasisIt is a prospective, non-randomized, monocentric study. The purpose of the study is to assess the predictive value of VE-cadherin on the objective tumor response. Biological factors will be correlated to clinical outcome measures. 100 patients treated with bevacizumab for a metastatic colorectal adenocarcinoma will be enrolled. Patients will be followed every 10 weeks until progression in spite of bevacizumab or until they stop bevacizumab because of toxicity. Bevacizumab will be administered according to investigators appreciation. Blood samples will be collected at enrollment, at second bevacizumab's administration and every 10 weeks until progression, or until patients stop bevacizumab because of toxicity or until one year at most in case that patients still receive bevacizumab.
DCLK1 as a Marker/Indicator of Stem Cell Response in Barrett's Esophagus/Esophageal Adenocarcinoma...
Barrett's EsophagusEsophageal AdenocarcinomaThe hypotheses are: 1) the intestinal stem cell marker, DCLK1, which is increased in both the epithelium and stroma in colon cancer is also increased in BE (Barrett's esophagus) with HGD (high grade dysplasia) and in EAC (esophageal adenocarcinoma), 2) this expression correlates with disease progression towards EAC and 3) eradication of cells expressing stem cell markers occurs after therapy of EMR (endoscopic mucosal resection) or RFA (radiofrequency ablation) to eradicate BE with HGD and intramucosal adenocarcinoma and esophagectomy for EAC. We will test our hypotheses with the following aims: 1) To characterize the cell specific expression patterns of intestinal stem cell biomarkers in BE patients and correlate them with serum expression and disease progression, 2) To examine prospectively the effects of EMR, RFA or esophagectomy on the expression of stem cell biomarkers and the progression to EAC.
Exercise Prior to Oesophagectomy
Postoperative Complications (Cardiopulmonary)Oesophageal AdenocarcinomaThe purpose of this feasibility study is to determine whether a structured exercise programme prior to oesophagectomy has: acceptable adherence, is safe, and improves physiological measures of physical fitness above standard care.
