Study Of PF-03084014 In Combination With Gemcitabine And Nab-Paclitaxel In Patients With Metastatic...

Metastatic Cancer Pancreas

This study consists of a Phase 1b portion aimed to determine the maximum tolerated dose and the safety profile of PF-03084014 in combination with gemcitabine and nab-paclitaxel followed by a Phase 2 portion to evaluate the efficacy of the triple combination in terms of overall survival in patients with metastatic pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma not previously treated with anticancer therapies.

Chemoembolization Using Irinotecan in Treating Patients With Liver Metastases From Metastatic Colon...

Liver MetastasesMucinous Adenocarcinoma of the Colon7 more

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as irinotecan hydrochloride, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or stopping them from dividing. Chemoembolization kills tumor cells by blocking blood flow to the tumor and keeping chemotherapy drugs near the tumor. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well chemoembolization using irinotecan works in treating patients with liver metastases from metastatic colon or rectal cancer.

Lapatinib With Carboplatin and Paclitaxel in Esophagus and Gastroesophageal Junction (GEJ)

Adenocarcinoma of the EsophagusAdenocarcinoma of the Gastroesophageal Junction

RATIONALE: Since lapatinib inhibits both EGFR and HER2 receptors, it is an attractive agent for the treatment of esophageal and GEJ tumors. PURPOSE: Lapatinib is currently approved for HER2 positive metastatic breast cancer in combination with capecitabine or letrozole. It is hoped that by giving lapatinib and carboplatin and paclitaxel together, their combined effects will further slow or stop the cancer cells from growing.

A Phase II Study to Assess the Efficacy and Safety of Preoperative Chemo With Radiation Therapy...

Pancreatic Cancer

The purpose of this phase II clinical trial study is to assess the resection rate among subjects who have been initially diagnosed with unresectable or borderline resectable pancreatic adenocarcinoma. This will be done by providing preoperative treatment that will include alternating cycles of chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment. In addition, this clinical trial will assess the safety of preoperative chemotherapy with radiation therapy for subjects with unresectable or borderline resectable adenocarcinoma of the pancreatic head, assess margin-negative resection rates, disease-free survival, assess overall survival rates, and determine patterns of local and distant recurrence.

Veliparib, Oxaliplatin, and Capecitabine in Treating Patients With Advanced Solid Tumors

Adenocarcinoma of the PancreasAdenocarcinoma of the Stomach25 more

This phase I trial is studying the side effects and the best dose of veliparib when given together with capecitabine and oxaliplatin in treating patients with advanced solid tumors. Veliparib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as capecitabine and oxaliplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving veliparib together with capecitabine and oxaliplatin may kill more tumor cells.

Tissue Pharmacokinetics of Intraoperative Gemcitabine in Resectable Adenocarcinoma of the Pancreas...

Pancreatic Cancer

The goal of this clinical research study is to learn if gemcitabine can enter pancreas cancer cells, to measure the amount of it that may enter the cells, and for biomarker testing. Biomarkers may be related to participant's reaction to the study drug.

Radio-chemotherapy With or Without Panitumumab (Vectibix®) in Irresectable Squamous Cell Carcinoma...

Irresectable Squamous Cell or Adenocarcinoma of the Oesophagus

For esophageal cancer that can not be removed by surgery, the choice of treatment is a combination of chemotherapy and radiotherapy. We call this combination- (or concurrent) chemoradiotherapy. Chemotherapy is treatment with drugs that kill cancer cells. Both chemotherapy and radiotherapy make the tumour smaller and enhance each other's effect. The goal of treatment with chemotherapy and radiation therapy is to cure the cancer. Unfortunately only a small proportion of patients are cured with this treatment. Improvements in the outcome of treatment may be expected by using the so-called "targeted" treatments. With esophageal cancer, a protein (the epidermal growth factor receptor (this is a kind of trap), the EGFR), is present in many tumours. This protein causes the tumor to grow. Panitumumab is a drug that blocks the functioning of this receptor (catcher), so that possibly the growth and spread of esophageal cancer is prevented. The main objective of this trial is to see if survival of patients with inoperable esophageal cancer improves as panitumumab is added to standard treatment with chemoradiotherapy. It will also investigate whether patients tolerate the addition of panitumumab to the standard treatment. Also, the biological characteristics of the tumor will be examined. In a proportion of patients it will be determined how the enhancement of the cancer is visible on an FDG-PET scan before the start of treatment and how this changes during the treatment. It will be also be evaluated how this treatment affects the survival.

Paclitaxel and Bevacizumab With or Without Emactuzumab in Treating Patients With Platinum-Resistant...

Fallopian Tube AdenocarcinomaFallopian Tube Clear Cell Adenocarcinoma18 more

This randomized phase II trial studies the side effects of paclitaxel and bevacizumab with or without emactuzumab and how well they work in treating patients with ovarian, fallopian tube, or primary peritoneal cancer that has come back after treatment with platinum chemotherapy. Monoclonal antibodies, such as emactuzumab, block tumor growth in different ways by targeting certain cells. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as paclitaxel, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Bevacizumab may prevent the growth of new blood vessels that tumors need to grow. Giving emactuzumab with paclitaxel and bevacizumab may work better in treating ovarian, fallopian tube, or primary peritoneal cancer.

Pancreatic Cancer

The primary purpose of this phase I study is to determine the safety of combining replication-competent adenovirus-mediated suicide gene therapy with chemoradiotherapy in patients with non-metastatic pancreatic cancer.
