A Randomised Trial of Preoperative Radiotherapy for Stage T3 Adenocarcinoma of Rectum
Adenocarcinoma of RectumThis is a multi-centre randomised trial comparing long course (LC) preoperative chemoradiation with short course (SC) preoperative radiotherapy for patients with localised T3 rectal cancer.
Non-interventional Study for Real-world Data of Afatinib Treatment in First-line Setting and of...
Non-squamousNon-Small Cell Lung CancerThe primary objective is to confirm Time on Treatment (TOT) related to afatinib treatment as first-line therapy in patients with Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (EGFR) mutation-positive Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC). The observation in the real-world setting of the time from the start of the first-line afatinib until the end of subsequent treatment in this study will provide insights on the sequence of treatment for patients. The Japanese healthcare system will enable this study to evaluate multiple treatment options after afatinib treatment.
Remote Telemonitoring of Patient-Generated Physiologic Health Data and Patient-Reported Outcomes...
Clinical Stage 0 Esophageal Adenocarcinoma AJCC v8Clinical Stage 0 Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma AJCC v8170 moreThis study examines at-home monitoring of patient-generated phsyiologic health data and patient-reported outcomes. Patient-generated health data using at-home monitoring devices and smart device applications are used more and more to measure value and quality in cancer care. This trial may show whether at-home monitoring programs can improve the care of patients after hospital discharge from surgery.
The Colorectal Breath Analysis (COBRA) Study
Colorectal CancerColorectal Polyps1 moreThis study aims to determine whether a breath test could be used for early detection of colorectal cancer and colorectal polyps. Patients who are attending for a planned colonoscopy or who are scheduled to undergo elective resection of histologically confirmed colorectal cancer (adenocarcinoma) will be approached to provide a breath sample. Multi platform mass spectrometry analysis will be performed to establish volatile biomarkers that can discriminate between colorectal cancer, benign colorectal disease (e.g. polyps) and healthy controls.
Phase II Trial of SBRT + or - IMRT in Treatment of Patients With Clinically Confined Prostate Adenocarcinoma...
Prostate AdenocarcinomaPatients with locally confined prostate adenocarcinoma (clinical stage T1c - T2bN0M0, Gleason score 7, PSA 20 ng/ml) are assigned to one of two treatment arms. Low risk patients (T1c-T2a and PSA <10 ng/ml and Gleason Score 6 or less) will receive 5 fractions of 8.0 Gy for a total of 40 Gy. Intermediate risk patients (T2b or PSA >10 ng/ml orGleason Score 7) will receive 1.8 Gy of IMRT for 25 fractions over 5 weeks for a total of 45 Gy. They will then receive a boost consisting of 4, 5.5 Gy fractions after IMRT for a total of 22 Gy.
Pilot Study of Perioperative Docetaxel, Oxaliplatin, and 5-Fluorouracil (FLOT) in Gastroesophageal...
Gastric AdenocarcinomaEsophageal AdenocarcinomaGastric or gastroesophageal junction adenocarcinoma is commonly treated with chemotherapy before and after surgery. The chemotherapy regimen used in our institution, called DCF (docetaxel, cisplatic, 5-fluorouracil) is active, resulting in tumor reduction and dysphagia relief. however, it is toxic, causing approximately half of patients severe inflammation of the mucosa (lining) of the mouth and gut. This results, in turn, in mouth sores, vomiting and diarrhea. Similar regimen called FLOT (5-FU, oxaliplatin, docetaxel) appears to be at least equally active, but less toxic. Our ultimate plan is to perform a randomized comparison of DCF and FLOT. Before embarking upon this, we are conducting this pilot trial in 10 subjects with the FLOT regimen. If less than 5 patients develop severe mouth sores, vomiting or diarrhea, plans will be made to proceed with the next trial, a randomized comparison of DCF and FLOT
Young-Onset Colorectal Cancer
Colon AdenocarcinomaColorectal Carcinoma1 moreThis study investigates the genetic factors that may influence the risk of developing colorectal cancer at a young age. Finding genetic markers for colorectal may help identify patients who are at risk of colorectal cancer. Studying individuals and families at high risk of cancer may help identify cancer genes and other persons at risk.
Non-Operative Radiation Management of Adenocarcinoma of the Lower Rectum
Cancer of RectumCancer of the Rectum6 moreThe purpose of this research study is to look at how tumors responds to a short course of radiation (5 days) followed by 8 cycles of chemotherapy.
A Clinical Trial of Endoscopic Surgery Followed by Chemotherapy and Proton Radiation for the Treatment...
Paranasal Sinus CancerNasal Cavity Tumor1 moreThis study is being done to test a new treatment plan for large tumors in the sinus or nasal cavity that will include endoscopic surgery plus chemotherapy and proton-beam radiation therapy.
Study of MDX-010 in Stage IV Breast Cancer
Breast CancerAdenocarcinomaThis Phase II study is designed to treat patients who have been diagnosed with Stage IV Breast Cancer, which has progressed despite treatment with primary therapies, including hormonal therapy, chemotherapy, and antibody therapy. Thirty-three patients will be treated with the monoclonal antibody MDX-010. The initial antitumor activity profile of MDX-010 will be determined, as well as identification of the induction of any antitumor immunity following the MDX-010 treatment.
