SeOuL cOhort of Brain Tumor MONitoring Study (SOLOMON)

Brain TumorPrimary4 more

The registry of this study was subjected to patients who were radiologically diagnosed with a non-malignant brain tumor at Seoul National University Hospital since 2001, and who have had magnetic resonance (MR) re-examination after first MR exam or will be re-examined because it was determined that immediate treatment would not be needed at the first visit to the hospital. In all MRs taken by patients, the date of imaging and the volume of the tumor are measured, and we aim to establish a natural growth history for non-malignant brain tumors.

A Stool DNA-based SDC2 Methylation Test for the Early Detection of Colorectal Cancer

Colorectal CancerAdvanced Colorectal Neoplasm3 more

The primary objective of this clinical trial is to determine the sensitivity and specificity of the EarlyTect® CRC test for detecting CRC, using colonoscopy as the reference method. The secondary objective is to compare the clinical performance of EarlyTect® CRC test with a commercially available Fecal Immunochemical Test (FIT), with respect to CRC. By histopathological examination, lesions identified during colonoscopy will be confirmed as malignant or precancerous by histological examination.

Endoscopic Size Assessment of Advanced Adenomatous Polyps

Adenoma Detection Rate Improvement in Screening Colonoscopy

The investigators are retrospectively comparing detection rates of adenomatous polyps, advanced adenomas, and size assessment of the polyps among Rush University Medical Center endoscopists. The investigators plan to review whether the size assessment of adenomatous polyps affected the surveillance protocols and if the location of polyps detected affected the detection rates.

A First in Human Study Using 89Zr-cRGDY Ultrasmall Silica Particle Tracers for Malignant Brain Tumors...

Brain CancerPituitary Adenoma

The purpose of this study is to test if PET scans using 89Zr-DFO-cRGDY-PEG-Cy5-C' dot particles, can be used to take pictures of brain tumors. The investigators want to understand how the particles are distributed and removed from the body, which may help others be treated in the future. This will be the first time that 89Zr-DFO-cRGDY-PEG-Cy5-C' dot particles are being used in people. The amount of particles given in this study is very small compared to the amount that was used in mice animal studies.

68-Ga DOTATATE PET/MRI in the Diagnosis and Management of Somatostatin Receptor Positive CNS Tumors....

CNS TumorsMeningioma5 more

The study population consists of patients who undergo resection for somatostatin receptor-positive (SSTR-positive) CNS tumors, focusing on meningioma, and including esthesioneuroblastoma, hemangioblastoma, medulloblastoma, paraganglioma, pituitary adenoma, and SSTR-positive systemic cancers metastatic to the brain, such as small cell carcinoma of the lung. The study indication is to determine the diagnostic utility of 68Ga-DOTATATE PET/MRI in the diagnosis and management of patients with SSTR-positive CNS tumors, specifically whether 68Ga-DOTATATE PET/MRI demonstrates utility distinguishing between tumor recurrence and post-treatment change. To date, the utility of Ga-68-DOTATATE PET/MRI in meningioma has not been explored. Investigators have over the past 3 months been able to accrue the largest case series of presently 12 patients in whom Ga-68-DOTATATE PET/MRI demonstrated utility in the assessment of meningioma, including assessment for postsurgical/postradiation recurrence, detection of additional lesions not visualized on MRI alone, and evaluation of osseous invasion. Based on this initial experience, investigators intend to study the impact of Ga-68-DOTATATE PET/MRI in the assessment of the extent of residual tumor in patients status post meningioma resection, specifically in patients in whom tumor location limits resectability, patients with World Health Organization (WHO) grade II/III disease, and patients with history of stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) who develop postradiation change.

Somatostatin Analogues in the Treatment of Relapsing GH Pituitary Adenomas After Surgery

Acromegaly

At present there are no recommendations regarding the possibility of discontinuing treatment in cases of recurrent acromegaly with good hormonal control. Discontinuation of treatment is therefore most often decided by the practitioner, on the basis of his experience and knowledge of the patient, the long-term course with somatostatin analogues being very little described. Thus, although hormonal control is achieved in a majority of cases under medical treatment, we do not know if it is possible to stop treatment and in this case how the pathology evolves. It would appear that approximately 40% of patients defined as very good responders to somatostatin analogues may gradually space their injections.

Familial Colorectal Cancer Registry in Hispanics

Colorectal CancerGastric Cancer3 more

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the second leading cause of cancer in Puerto Rico (PR) accounting for approximately 1,500 individuals annually, which represent 12% of all cancer cases in the island. The genetic epidemiology of CRC among Hispanic populations is not well studied, hence studies focused on large, well defined ethnic groups such as Puerto Ricans, are clearly warranted. The first step towards evaluating the molecular, environmental, and genetic epidemiology of CRC in PR is to establish a population-based familial CRC registry. The following specific aims have been proposed: Specific Aim 1: To prospectively identify and recruit approximately 300 CRC probands from two distinct geographical areas in PR (Metropolitan and Southern Region). From each proband the investigators will obtain a pedigree extended to second-degree relatives and cousins. Assuming 10% will be positive for a family history of CRC, the investigators will then recruit all 30 probands with a family history of CRC and a sample of 15 family-history negative probands and obtain: paraffin-embedded tumors blocks, blood samples, risk factor and food frequency questionnaires. Specific Aim 2: To prospectively identify and recruit selected relatives (parents, grandparents, and same generation relatives - cousins and siblings) from the 45 probands identified in Specific Aim 1. In addition, for siblings and cousins of probands (i.e. relatives in the same generation as the proband), the investigators will obtain risk factor and food frequency questionnaires, and for colorectal cancer cases, tumor blocks and pathology reports of their cancers. Specific Aim 3: To estimate from this pilot study the following parameters: (a) response rate of probands and their selected relatives; (b) response rate of participants for each data item; (c) family history of CRC and other cancers; (d) number of living first- and second-degree relatives and cousins of probands; (e) number of these relatives who live in the same household and region/municipality; (f) prevalence/distribution of selected risk factors from the administered questionnaires.

China Adrenal Disease Registry

Cushing SyndromeAldosteronism6 more

Epidemiologic studies have revealed a tremendous increase in the prevalence of adrenal associated disease and related mortality worldwide. In order to meet all the therapeutic challenges in adrenal disease in China, CASE was founded in 2020. The objective of CASE is to launch an adrenal disease management model based on the Internet health information platform which allows the application and evaluation of adrenal disease treatment strategies at multiple centers. The proprietary electronic medical database will help the dynamic big-data analysis in epidemiology of adrenal disease, diagnosis, and treatment.
