Swedish Study of Immunotherapy for Milk Allergy in Children

Milk Allergy

This trial is a two-armed open randomized controlled trial in children aged 5-15 years with challenge proven Immunoglobulin E (IgE)-associated milk allergy. The purpose is to determine if oral immunotherapy with milk can induce tolerance to milk. The active intervention is intake of increasing amounts of fresh milk for six months followed by three years of maintenance treatment with milk. The control group continues their elimination (milk free) diet. The trial will recruit patients at ten pediatric departments in Sweden, coordinated by Umeå University. The primary outcome is milk tolerance (defined as a negative double-blind placebo-controlled milk challenge) at trial completion 3.5 years after start of treatment. Secondary outcomes include allergic symptoms during treatment documented as certain allergic manifestations, changes in immunological and microbial biomarkers, quality of life and nutritional status.

Prostate-cancer Treatment Using Stereotactic Radiotherapy for Oligometastases Ablation in Hormone-sensitive...

Oligometastatic Hormone Sensitive Prostate Cancer

INDICATION: Oligometastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer patients. METHODOLOGY: Open label, double arm, randomized 1:1, multicenter phase III study. PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: To assess the efficacy of ablative radiotherapy (SBRT applied to all oligometastases) administered to all gross tumor sites (metastases and prostate if applicable), in oligometastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer patients.

Omalizumab to Accelerate a Symptom-driven Multi-food OIT

Food IgE-mediated AllergyImmunotherapy2 more

This study will determine the dose-related efficacy of a 20-week treatment of omalizumab started 8 weeks before the onset of a symptom-driven multi-food oral immunotherapy (OIT) protocol at decreasing time to OIT maintenance dose. Two dosages of omalizumab will be compared to placebo during an oral immunotherapy protocol for three simultaneous food allergens.

Food Product for Management of Gestational Diabetes

Gestational DiabetesGlucose Tolerance Impaired in Pregnancy3 more

The goal of this pilot open pre-post clinical trial is to test effects of a wholegrain product in patients with newly diagnosed gestational diabetes. The main question it aims to answer is: Does the wholegrain product improve glucose tolerance and insulin sensitivity during a 75 g oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT). Participants will consume product on two consecutive evenings shortly after the first OGTT and will then perform a second OGTT. Researchers will compare the results of the first and second OGTT to see if glucose tolerance improved after consumption of the test product.

Grape Seed Extract VS Low Level Laser Therapy for Dentin Hypersensitivity

Dentin Hypersensitivity

Dentin hypersensitivity (DH) is a common clinical problem frequently seen in dental patients. According to Splieth et al., the prevalence of dentin hypersensitivity is 3-98% in adult population.DH is described as a short, sharp pain or discomfort that responses to certain stimuli, typically thermal, tactile, osmotic or chemical, due to exposed dentinal surface which can be explained by the hydrodynamic theory. The laser is a narrow, focused beam of light emitted to vaporise, fuse, melt, or seal dentinal tubules using laser heat to induce hydroxyapatite crystals for recrystallisation of the mineral component of dentine. The obliteration of dentinal tubules is caused by heat generated by laser beam which inhibits the transmission of the stimulus in the dentinal tubules. Grape seed extract contains proanthocyanidins (PA) which is able to bind to proline-rich proteins, like collagen, and contributes in enzyme proline hydroxylase activity that is essential for the biosynthesis of collagen in the dentin. The cross-linking action of collagen fibrils in dentin also able to prevent mineral loss.

Capivasertib+Abiraterone as Treatment for Patients With Metastatic Hormone-sensitive Prostate Cancer...

Hormone-Sensitive Prostate Cancer

This study will assess the efficacy and safety of capivasertib plus abiraterone (+prednisone/prednisolone) plus androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) versus placebo plus abiraterone (+prednisone/prednisolone) plus ADT in participants with mHSPC whose tumours are characterised by PTEN deficiency. The intention of the study is to demonstrate that in participants with mHSPC, the combination of capivasertib plus abiraterone (+prednisone/prednisolone) plus ADT is superior to placebo plus abiraterone (+prednisone/prednisolone) plus ADT in participants with mHSPC characterised by PTEN deficiency with respect to radiographic progression-free survival (rPFS) per 1) Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors (RECIST) 1.1 for soft tissue and/or Prostate Cancer Working Group (PCWG3) for bone as assessed by the investigator 2) death due to any cause.

Comparative Evaluation of the Post Operative Sensitivity of Cention-N(Commercially Available Restorative...

Dental CariesDentin Sensitivity

Cention-N(commercially available restorative material) is a cost effective restoration for posterior restorations. Post-operative sensitivity is of great concern as far as any type of restorative material is concerned. Reduction of post-operative sensitivity is still a major on-going research. Timely advancement has lead to the discovery and usage of polymer bur for reduction of excess tooth removal, and thus reduction of sensitivity. Therefore the novelty of this study is comparision of the post operative sensitivity of Cention-N(commercially available restorative material) using conventional and polymer bur using Visual Analog Scale.
