The aim of this study is to evaluate the clinical feasibility of the angiographic Flat Detector CT perfusion imaging (6s PBV) technique. The investigators will examine the specific vessel distribution of patients with steno-occlusive disease, treated with a surgical extracranial-intracranial bypass and assess the cerebral perfusion during test occlusion upon a neurovascular treatment and in intracranial tumor patients referred for potential pre-operative embolization. This study encompasses three scientific objectives: What is the selective contribution of an individual bypass artery to the brain perfusion? Is a selective intra-arterial angiographic perfusion examination useful in the decision-making of performing pre-operative embolization of intracranial tumors? What is the usefulness of performing additive 6s PBV images compared to classical 2D angiography and/or clinical neurological evaluation in case of test occlusion in the evaluation of possible mother vessel occlusion in treatment of complex neurovascular diseases?

This is a prospective randomized cross over study of healthy volunteers comparing end-tidal oxygen concentration among subjects undergoing continuous positive airway pressure ventilation via a noninvasive ventilation (NIV) mask with and without the addition of nasal cannulas.

Hypoxemia is a life threatening complication during emergency airway management. Despite advances in technology and training, hypoxemia still occurs in up to a quarter of all intubations placing patients at high risk for damage to vital organs and death. A key method in the prevention of hypoxemia is known as preoxygenation which has been shown to decrease the incidence of hypoxemia. Currently there are two conventional methods for preoxygenation in the literature, however recently a new method has been described as a possible alternative method. What is unclear in the literature is if one modality is superior than the other for preoxygenation. The goal of this interventional study is to determine if one method of preoxygenation is superior to the other. This is a 3 arm interventional cross over designed study comparing three interventional methods for preoxygenation. Non-rebreather mask, bag-valve mask and high flow nasal cannulae.

Influence of Oxygen Target Range on Intermittent Hypoxemia in Preterm Infants

Intermittent HypoxemiaApnea of Prematurity

In this randomized crossover trial, preterm infants with intermittent hypoxemia and need for supplemental oxygen will be randomized to either Sequence of two different oxygen target ranges (low: 85-89%; high: 91-95%) for a total duration of 19 hours. Cerebral oxygenation, cardiac output, arterial oxygenation and heart rate will be measured continuously. Primary outcome is time with arterial oxygen saturation < 80%.
