Childhood Adenotonsillectomy Study for Children With OSAS

Obstructive Sleep ApneaSnoring

The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of adenotonsillectomy surgery (removal of tonsils and adenoids) on obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) in children. OSAS can cause health problems including poor growth, high blood pressure, diabetes and behavioral and learning difficulties. Although adenotonsillectomy is the usual treatment for children with OSAS, it is not known with any certainty if the child's OSAS symptoms improve afterwards. This study will help determine if improvement occurs or if it does not. It will also look at whether certain groups, such as children who are overweight or of different ethnicities, are helped by the surgery.

Effects of Continuous Positive Airway Pressure and Valsartan Treatments on Arterial Blood Pressure...

Hypertension,Obstructive Sleep Apnea

The main objective of the study is to compare the decrease of mean arterial blood pressure over 24 hours in patients having obstructive sleep apnea syndrome and weak or moderate hypertension, treated by Valsartan 160mg per day versus continuous Positive Airway Pressure.

cNEP for the Treatment of Obstructive Sleep Apnea

Sleep ApneaObstructive

The purpose of this study is to determine whether cNEP (continuous positive external pressure) is effective in treating obstructive sleep apnea

AutoSet for Her Clinical Trial Protocol

Obstructive Sleep Apnea

The purpose of this study is to assess the efficacy and user preference of the Newport AutoSet for Her in female obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) patients. Efficacy will be evaluated by comparing the apnea and hypopnea index (AHI) and oxygen desaturation index (ODI) of the Newport AutoSet for Her algorithm to a standard algorithm. User preference will be evaluated by subjective feedback relating to comfort, ease of falling asleep, sleep disturbance and feeling of being refreshed.

Osteopathy and Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome II

Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome

The main objective is to evaluate an osteopathic compression of pterygopalatine node in healthy subjects and patients suffering from obstructive apnea syndrome (OSA).

Evaluation of the Cardiovascular Effects of the MAS in the Treatment of Obstructive Sleep Apnea...

OSA

In this prospective trial 50 patients, diagnosed with moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) (AHI > 15/h sleep) will be included and treated with mandibular advancement devices (MAD). These patients will undergo cardiovascular examination; echocardiography and 24h-blood pressure monitoring, on top of the normal clinical evaluation of OSA patients. These cardiovascular examinations will take place before and during MAD therapy.

The Effect of Continuous Positive Airway Pressure on Diastolic Function in Patients With Obstructive...

Obstructive Sleep Apnea

The association of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and cardiac diastolic dysfunction have been reported, and improvement of diastolic function after continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) in OSA patients was observed. However, more detailed analysis of diastolic function by supine bicycle exercise echocardiography is lacking. The investigators hypothesized that 3 months of CPAP therapy in OSA patients will significantly improve diastolic functional parameters measured by exercise stress echocardiography. Patients with severe OSA (Apnea-hypopnea index > 30) will be included in this study, and randomized to CPAP versus sham-CPAP group by 1:1 ratio. Supine bicycle exercise echocardiography, pulse wave velocity, 24 hours ambulatory blood pressure (BP), central BP will be checked before and after CPAP therapy and parameters will be compared.
