The research objective is to determine which physical therapy (PT) treatment is the most efficacious for patients with lower back pain (LBP), who have been subgrouped based on certain clinical features. There is only limited evidence that supports any one PT treatment for patients with LBP since PT treatment outcomes for exercise protocols are equivocal, given the heterogeneous clinical features of patients with LBP. Thus, classification of patients with LBP into subgroups with shared clinical features has been identified as a research priority by several groups in order to prescribe the most efficacious PT treatment for each homogeneous subgroup. The investigators hypothesize that particular PT treatments are most efficacious when applied to patients with LBP, who present with particular clinical and neuromuscular features.

The objective of this study is to assess the safety of the buprenorphine transdermal system (5, 10, and 20) in comparison to placebo transdermal system and immediate release oxycodone/ acetaminophen in subjects with chronic back pain. The double-blind treatment intervention duration is 84 days during which time supplemental analgesic medication (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) will be allowed for all subjects in addition to study drug.

This study will evaluate the effectiveness of two types of massage therapy for treating chronic low back pain.

Low back pain is a common condition, which extols a large cost to society from lost wages The Biowave System was developed by Biowave Corporation (Biowave), Norwalk, CT. Two wires emanate from the unit. The feed wire is attached to a large disposable input pad ("Feed Electrode"). The return wire is attached to a smaller pad ("Return Electrode") over the source of the pain (the treatment site). The device sends a premixed modulated envelope of two high frequency electronic wave forms ("Feed Signal") between the two electrodes. The beat frequency of the modulated envelope ("d-Frequency") is equal to the difference in frequency of the two feed signals. The location of beat frequency formation is dependent on the size and location of the two electrodes. With the configuration used in the study, the beat frequency signal is believed to form immediately ventrally to the Return electrode. The size of the volume of tissue affected can be changed and is dependent upon electrode geometry and the amplitude of the Feed Signal. The beat frequency is a low frequency blocking signal which is believed to cause a demodulation in the nerve cells and a reduction of the sodium/potassium ion exchange. As a result, the charge polarity of the nerve cell wall is prevented from changing and is therefore unable to transmit pain impulses. The size of the volume of tissue affected can be changed and is dependent upon electrode geometry and the amplitude of the Feed Signal. The objective of this study is to compare the Biowave System with TENS (a currently available treatment) and to further evaluate its efficacy for the relief of pain in patients with chronic low back pain.

The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of BTDS compared to placebo in subjects with moderate to severe low back pain.

The purpose of the study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of Hydrocodone Bitartrate controlled-release capsules in subjects with chronic low back pain.

To assess two regimens of thiocolchicoside injection and capsule in combination with either diclofenac or ibuprofen in patients with acute low back pain.

The hypothesis of this study is that the improvement of Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) for Pain at the end of the study will be greater in the Wet Cupping Treatment group than in the Waiting Control group.

The purpose of this study is to examine 4 different epidural dosing regimes of local anaesthetic solution in a series of 3 epidural injections over a period of 12 months to determine the optimum dose of anaesthetic solution for pain relief and to determine the nature of any adverse events by measuring anxiety and depression, functionality and any side effects of the medication.

This study aims to examine the efficacy of an Integrative approach utilizing Chiropractic as an add-on therapy for the treatment back and neck pain in an emergency department setting Chiropractic is well established as an effective treatment for back pain. The investigators cumulative experience in Asaf Harofeh Medical Center has shown Chiropractic to be an effective therapy for simple back and neck pain in an emergency room (ER) setting. This study will examine weather Chiropractic can decrease pain, increase range of motion and decrease anxiety in patients admitted to the Emergency Room with simple back and neck pain without neurological findings. Chiropractic will be performed as an add on therapy on top of analgesic therapy.
