Open Angle GlaucomaOcular Hypertension

The objective of this clinical study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of NCX 470 Ophthalmic Solution in lowering intraocular pressure (IOP) in subjecs with ocular hypertension or open-angle glaucoma. Subjects will be randomized in a 1:1 ratio to NCX 470 0.1% or to latanoprost 0.005% to be administered to both eyes once daily in the evening for up to 12 months.

Using mHealth to Improve Adherence and Reduce Blood Pressure in Individuals With Hypertension and...

Bipolar DisorderNon-Adherence2 more

This proposed 2-stage randomized controlled trial (RCT) will evaluate a personalized patient-centered adherence intervention iTAB-CV + Self-Monitoring (iTAB-CV + SM) vs. Self-Monitoring (SM) alone in poorly adherent hypertensive persons with BD. This practical, technology-facilitated intervention has potential to improve adherence to antihypertensive medication and reduce SBP among high-risk individuals. The intervention is suitable for primary care or mental health settings and has potential for broad scale-up.

A Study to Test Whether Two Different Doses of BI 685509 Help People With Liver Cirrhosis and High...

HypertensionPortal

This study is open to adults with liver cirrhosis and high blood pressure in the portal vein (main vessel going to the liver). The purpose of this study is to find out whether a medicine called BI 685509 helps people with this condition. Participants are put into 3 groups randomly, which means by chance. Participants in 2 groups take different doses of BI 685509 as tablets twice a day. Participants in the placebo group take placebo as tablets twice a day. Placebo tablets look like BI 685509 tablets but do not contain any medicine. Participants are in the study for about 8 months. During this time, they visit the study site about 14 times. At 3 of the visits, the doctors check the pressure in a liver vein. This is done with a catheter (a long thin tube) and gives information about the pressure in the portal vein. The change in blood pressure is then compared between the groups to see whether the treatment works. The doctors also regularly check participants' health and take note of any unwanted effects.

The Effect of Oxygen Therapy on 6MWD in PAH and CTEPH Patients With Hypoxemia

Oxygen DeficiencyPulmonary Arterial Hypertension1 more

Treatment of O2 naïve patients with PAH will be included in this investigator-initiated trial (IIT) to assess efficacy and safety of oxygen substitution. Nocturnal oxygen substitution improved the 6MWD compared to placebo in one clinical trial in PAH patients. Due to the positive results in the treatment of patients with PAH, the initiation of this proof-of-concept study is justified.

Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension for Diabetes

Diabetes MellitusType 27 more

The objective of the DASH4D trial is to determine the effects, alone and combined, of (a) the DASH4D diet (a DASH-style diet modified for people with diabetes) vs. comparison diet that is typical of what many Americans eat and (b) lower sodium intake vs. higher sodium intake on blood pressure (BP). The core design is a single-site, 4-period, crossover feeding study with 5-week periods. Participants are fed each of four isocaloric diets, presented in random order. The primary contrast of interest is DASH4D diet with lower sodium vs. comparison diet with higher sodium.
