Breast cancer is the most common women's cancer and the third leading cause of death. Advances in prevention, detection and primary treatment have improved overall survival leading to its growing acceptance as a long-term disease. Following the announcement of breast cancer, but also after primary treatment, some symptoms appear directly compromising psychic and physical spheres. Hippotherapy is an emerging specialized rehabilitation approach performed through specially trained horses by accredited health professionals. The proposed hippotherapy program offers key elements for physical, psychic and social reinforcement, complementing conventional care. The aim is to provide patients with tools to consolidate their self-awareness and thus strengthen their ability to cope with the disease.

This study aims to examine the effects of lymphedema extremity on upper extremity function, posture and quality of life in patients who develop upper extremity lymphedema after unilateral breast cancer. Twenty-seven volunteers (27Female) diagnosed with upper extremity lymphedema after unilateral breast cancer treatment by a specialist physician between May 2022 and October 2022 were included in the study. Upper extremity circumference measurements of the individuals were performed on the healthy and affected sides. A goniometer measured both sides' upper extremity range of motion (ROM). The New York Posture Analysis (NYPA) was used for posture evaluation. Upper extremity functions were assessed by the Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder and Hand (DASH) Questionnaire and the Lymphedema Functionality, Disability and Health Questionnaire (Lymph-ICF). Quality of life was assessed by Upper Extremity Lymphedema-27 (ULL-27) and Quality of Life Measure for Limb Lymphedema -Arm (LYMQOL- Arm).

Genetic and Non-Genetic Breast Cancer Risk Prediction Evaluation in Indonesian Samples

Breast cancer is the most common cancer and cause of cancer- related deaths among women, accounting for 1.67 million (25.2%) new cases and 521,907 (14.7%) deaths worldwide. The prevalence and survival rates of breast cancer differ per country. In Indonesia, majority of patients (70.9%) go to the clinic with advanced stages of breast cancer. Five-year survival rate is 51.07%. One of the most important determinants of survival is education level and stage of breast cancer. Current screening methods include mammography and radiology assessments, both of which have disadvantages specifically in Asian population. Mammography is less useful in Asian population because the population has denser breast, resulting to failure to diagnose cases of breast cancer in this population in 37-70% of cases. Moreover, screening methods provide binary answers, and therefore does not inform risk profile of the patients. The investigators aim to implement PRS into the breast cancer screening process while observing the differences of genetic and non-genetic risk factor in patients with breast cancer and patients without any medical/family history of breast cancer in Indonesian population.

Relationship Between Breast Cancer Subtypes and Immune Checkpoints

Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer in women and the second most common cause of death after lung cancer. The luminal group A, which has the highest prevalence among breast cancers; It includes Her2-negative tumors with low proliferative activity, low mitotic rate and histological grade. The prognosis of patients with luminal A tumors is very good and metastases are mostly limited to bones. Luminal-B tumors have a more aggressive course. The most important difference of this group is that tumors have a high proliferation rate. The breakpoint between luminal A and B is generally accepted as less than 14% of tumor cells showing nuclear Ki67 expression immunohistochemically. In addition, approximately 30% of Her2-positive tumors are immunohistochemically in the luminal B phenotype. Up or down regulation of immune checkpoints is observed to protect breast cancer cells from the anti-tumor responses of the immune system. There are few studies in the literature evaluating soluble immune checkpoints in breast cancer, and these studies did not evaluate soluble immune checkpoints according to the histopathological subtyping of breast cancer. The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between Luminal A, Luminal B and triple negative breast cancer and soluble immune control points, and to guide possible potential immunotherapy treatments.

Physical activity during chemotherapy has been shown to increase patient health and wellbeing as well as improve outcomes in breast cancer patients. The primary aim of this project is to determine the feasibility of incorporating wearable sensors into clinical care by having breast cancer patients, undergoing chemotherapy, wear a commercially available monitor (Fitbit) that tracks physical activity, sleep, and heart rate monitor.
