Prospective, open label study to assess the pharmacokinetics, safety & efficacy of anidulafungin when used to treat children (aged 1 month - <18 years) with invasive candidiasis, including candidemia (ICC).

Anidulafungin may be effective for the treatment of invasive Candida infections. The purpose of the study is to find the balance between dose tolerance and effectiveness of several doses for the treatment of United States patients with invasive candidiasis.

To evaluate the efficacy and safety of anidulafungin in the treatment of systemic fungal infections in intensive care and critical care unit patients.

Comparison of the safety and effectiveness of standard drug dosing versus a daily dose 3 times higher than the standard dose in patients with invasive candidiasis (bloodstream and/or systemic yeast infections)

The purpose of the study is to determine the safety and effectiveness of two dose levels of micafungin versus caspofungin in the treatment of proven invasive candidiasis or candidemia.

The purpose of this study is to determine the efficacy and safety of micafungin (FK463) versus liposomal amphotericin B (AmBisome) in treating neutropenic and non-neutropenic patients with confirmed invasive candidiasis or candidemia. Enrollment will include adult and pediatric patients.

The primary objective is to estimate global response rate. Clinical, microbiological and global response rates and its 95% confidence intervals will be computed. No hypotheses will be tested.

Anidulafungin is a medicine being developed for treatment of patients with certain kinds of fungal infections. These infections due to yeast (a type of fungus) in the mouth/esophagus, in the blood or in other areas within the body.

In the treatment of patients with candidemia and/or other forms of invasive candidiasis , Anidulafungin is at least as effective and safe as Fluconazole.

Subjects with intra-abdominal infection requiring surgery and Intensive Care Unit stay will be treated early with micafungin or placebo to determine the incidence and time to confirmation of fungal infection.
