Evaluation of 123I-Iodometomidate for Adrenal Scintigraphy

Adrenal TumorAdrenocortical Carcinoma

The improvement of conventional imaging techniques has led to an increased detection rate of different adrenal tumors. Since those tumors can belong to a variety of entities the therapeutic consequences also show considerable variation. In order to definitely determine the type of tumor, invasive procedures like CT guided biopsies are often required, which could be avoided by a tumor specific imaging method. The presently available scintigraphic procedures are either time consuming and lead to high radiation exposure or are technically demanding. The steroidogenic enzymes CYP11B1 (11ß-hydroxylase)and CYP11B2 (aldosterone synthase)are expressed exclusively in the adrenal cortex and therefore represent suitable targets for a specific imaging technique. In our project we evaluate 123I-Iodometomidate which binds to both CYP11B enzymes as radiotracer for adrenal scintigraphy.

Cervical Nodal Mets in Squamous Cell Carcinoma of H&N - MRI, FDG-PET, & Histopathologic Correlation...

Head and Neck CancerCarcinoma2 more

The purpose of this study is to determine the value of novel non-invasive medical imaging methods for detecting the spread of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma to the lymph nodes in the neck by comparing their results to findings at the time of surgery.

Intraperitoneal Hyperthermic Chemotherapy in Epithelial Ovarian Carcinoma

Epithelial Ovarian CarcinomaFigo Stage IIIC

Phase II to study results and morbidity of intra peritoneal hyper-thermic chemotherapy as consolidation therapy in patients with FIGO stage IIIC epithelial ovarian carcinoma treated by surgery and a total of 6 cycles of platinum based chemotherapy. A second look operation is performed after treatment; during this second look secondary cytoreductive surgery is accepted without bowel resection. If none or milimetric peritoneal disease is obseved an intraperitoneal chemotherapy is achieve

Intravital Microscopy in Evaluating Patients With Primary Peritoneal, Fallopian Tube, or Stage IA-IV...

Fallopian Tube CarcinomaPrimary Peritoneal Carcinoma13 more

This pilot clinical trial studies how well intravital microscopy works in evaluating patients with primary peritoneal, fallopian tube, or stage IA-IV ovarian cancer. Intravital microscopic evaluation of tumor blood vessels, blood flow, immune cell interactions, and drug uptake may be eventually visualized and may lead to valuable prognostic information.

A Study of Comparing Huachansu Plus Thoracic RT Versus RT Alone For ESCC

Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma

This primary objective of the trial is to study whether the local control of Huachansu plus thoracic radiotherapy is better compared to thoracic radiotherapy alone for patients with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma. It's a phase II study, 134 patients are expected to be recruited into the trial.

Assessing Uterine Ultrasound Done as a Diagnostic Tool for the Depth of Carcinoma Invasion

Endometrial Endometroid Carcinoma

In this study the investigators aim to assess the diagnostic performance of intraoperative, ultrasonographic assessment of the surgical extracted uterus for determining myometrial invasion's depth in comparison to preoperative ultrasound, intraoperative gross inspection and final pathological report (gold standard). The investigators hope that intraoperative gross inspection of the extracted uterus might offer an additional intraoperative tool for assessing the need for pelvic lymphadenectomy in early stage of endometrial cancer at least as good as pathological exam.

Detection and Localization of Carcinoma Using High Resolution Transrectal Imaging - Proof of Concept...

Prostate Cancer

An exploratory, feasibility and proof-of-concept study to evaluate the capability of a rectal probe scintigraphy device (ProxiScanTM) to detect PSMA specific radiopharmaceutical agent (ProstaScint®; as a surrogate marker for prostate cancer) in patients who have undergone a radical prostatectomy for their disease, patients with multiple negative prostate biopsies and patients with known primary prostate cancer. Developed by Hybridyne Imaging Technologies, Inc. ProxiScanTM is a small cadmium zinc telluride (CST)-based compact gamma camera. It is the same size as a trans-rectal ultrasound (TRUS), currently used for prostate biopsy guidance. Men with multiple positive biopsies will be considered controls. Prostate cancer sextant biopsy histology results will be correlated with ProxiScanTM, TRUS, MRI and SPECT/CT. The investigators hypothesize that it will be safe and feasible to utilize a rectal probe scintigraphy (ProxiScanTM) to detect PSMA specific ProstaScint®, thus identifying and localizing the tumour sites within the prostate and surrounding areas.
