Adjuvant Immune Checkpoint Inhibitors in Postoperative Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Though hepatectomy is the best treatment for patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), the 5-years recurrence-free survival is lower than 30%. In recent years, several immune checkpoint inhibitors have been approved in advanced HCC. No study about the safety and efficacy of adjuvant immune checkpoint inhibitors for patients with HCC after hepatectomy was reported.

Management of Ductal Carcinoma in Situ or Pure Micro-invasive Extended Breast

Intraductal Carcinoma and Lobular Carcinoma in Situ

The rate of axillary dissection avoided in patients with Ductal Carcinoma in Situ (DCIS) and a mastectomy indication will be obtained by calculating the proportion of women with GAS in-patient population that will prove to be DCIS or DCIS-MI + CCI. A confidence interval of 95% will be deferred.

A Phase I Study of iPS Cell Generation From Patients With COPD

Thoracic DiseasesRespiratory Tract Diseases17 more

As part of the long-term goal of successfully implementing tissue regeneration strategies in an individualized manner for patients with thoracic diseases including, but not limited to: cystic fibrosis, pulmonary fibrosis and pulmonary hypertension, the investigators will assess the feasibility of collecting skin biopsies from patients undergoing surgery for thoracic disease, culturing skin fibroblasts from the biopsy, and reprogramming these skin fibroblasts into induced pluripotent cells.

A Retrospective Real World Analysis Of Sutent In Patients With Metastatic Renal Cell Carcinoma In...

Metastatic Renal Cell Carcinoma

This is a retrospective, non-interventional study which looks at the cohort of Renal Cell Carcinoma patients in a real life clinical setting and analyses into factors why these patients have been surviving for as long as 3-5 years unlike Clinical study where the survival is around 2 years. The factors which will be analysed include patient characteristics, dosage and adverse event management and tries to correlate these factors with survival.

Adjuvant Therapy With Thalidomide After Curative Resection of Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Hepatocellular CarcinomaRecurrence

Postoperative recurrence of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a major problem after surgical resection. To date, adjuvant chemotherapy or other adjuvant modalities have not been proven effective in preventing or delaying recurrence. The aim of this prospective randomized study was to evaluate the effectiveness of Thalidomide as a postoperative adjuvant regimen in inhibiting the recurrence of HCC

Does Cryofixation of Skin Specimens Affect Quality of Subsequent Formalin Fixed Paraffin Embedded...

Basal Cell CarcinomaSquamous Cell Carcinoma

This prospective study of 60 slides of basal and squamous cell carcinomas of the skin aims to determine whether: The process of cryofixation prior to generating formalin fixed paraffin embedded (FFPE) H&E sections alters the histology in skin tumor specimens. Which specific histologic parameters are altered between previously cryofixed versus routine FFPE sections. Histologic observations will be recorded by two dermatopathologists and two Mohs surgeons and statistically analyzed.

Representation of the Body for Patients With Cancer

Peritoneal Carcinomatosis

The project aims to understand better how patients live the event of cancer and live its consequences on their bodily representations. In the study, the dynamic of the body image is not restricted to appearance but include sensations and visions of the inner body, what explains the choice of peritoneal cancer, and the treatment by cytoreductive surgery and HIPEC. The three objectives of the study are: identifying the impact of the representations of the treated body on the psychological strategies to cope with the disease, the bodily changes and the prospects of life; making explicit the positive or negative impacts of these representations on the relationship between patients and health professionals (easing factors, misunderstandings, negotiations, etc.); associating the health professionals with the study in its course and evaluation in order to elaborate a methodological collaborative approach between patients, health professionals and researchers in social sciences.

Duration of Treatment With Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitors in the Treatment of Metastatic Renal Cell...

Renal Cell Carcinoma

This study is a prospective, non-interventional, non-controlled, multi-center, observational cohort study. The medication is prescribed within the regular practice of the physician. Duration and dosage of treatment is solely at the discretion of the attending physician. The primary objective of this study is to assess duration of treatment in Turkish renal cell carcinoma patients treated with TKIs (Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitors) who could not tolerate prior cytokine treatment within the first month of treatment.

DNA Methylation Biomarkers and Metastasis of Gastric Carcinoma

Gastric Carcinoma

Gastric carcinoma (GC) is the second leading cause of cancer death throughout the world. In previous multi-center study, we have found that the prevalence of GDNF family receptor alpha 1(GFRA1), serum response factor (SRF), and ZNF382 methylation alterations were inversely and coordinately associated with GC metastasis and the patients' overall survival throughout discovery and testing cohorts in China, Japan and Korea. The present cohort study is to investigate whether methylation of those genes can predict the metastasis and prognosis of GC.
