Apple Heart Study: Assessment of Wristwatch-Based Photoplethysmography to Identify Cardiac Arrhythmias...

Atrial FibrillationArrhythmias2 more

The Apple Heart Study (AHS) is a research study conducted to evaluate whether the Apple Heart Study App can use data collected on the Apple Watch to identify irregular heart rhythms, including those from potentially serious heart conditions such as atrial fibrillation. Up to 500,000 can participate in the study.

Detection of Silent Atrial Fibrillation aFter Ischemic StrOke

Ischemic StrokeCerebral Infarction7 more

The primary objective of this study is to evaluate whether, in patients with first-ever atherothrombotic or lacunar stroke without any previous history of atrial fibrillation (AF)/atrial flutter (AFL)/atrial tachycardia (AT), the detection of AF/AFL/AT (silent or symptomatic) by using a continuous cardiac rhythm monitoring with implantable loop recorder (ILR) during the first 12 months of observation is higher than the detection by using a standard cardiac monitoring (physical exam, 12-lead electrocardiogram [ECG] at baseline, 3, 6, and 12 months and Holter ECG at 3 months) in the same period of time.

Effects of Endurance Training on Patients With Reduced Left Ventricular Ejection Fraction (LVEF)...

Heart FailureCardiac Resynchronisation Therapy1 more

A severely reduced left ventricular ejection fraction is associated with increased mortality due to pump failure as well as to malignant ventricular arrhythmia. We hypothesize that targeted training may lead to improved survival and to increased parameters of risk stratification for malignant arrhythmia. Additionally, the training may lead to an improved psychological and mental condition of the patients

Reversal of Neuromuscular Blockade and Perioperative Arrhythmias

Neuromuscular Blockade

Patients scheduled for elective abdominopelvic laparoscopic surgery under general anesthesia were included. Rocuronium was used for the neuromuscular blockade (NMB) and the level of NMB was monitored with train-of-four (TOF) measurements. The participants from whom informed consent had been received were allocated to two groups according to the agent used for reversal of NMB, sugammadex, or neostigmine. The ECG recordings of the subjects were followed with a rhythm Holter device throughout the procedure until the postoperative 12th hour. Additionally, preoperative and immediate postoperative 12-lead ECGs were evaluated for corrected QT calculations and QT dispersion. Proarrhythmogenicity was assessed with QT related measurements. The documented arrhythmic events on the Holter monitoring were designated as clinical end-points.

Safety Procedure Pulmonary Artery Denervation in Addition to Pulmonary Vein Isolation Combined With...

Atrial FibrillationHypertension7 more

Some patients with a long history of AF develops PH "reactive" type with an increase in pulmonary vascular resistance due to vasoconstriction or structural changes of the vascular wall. RFA PVI + RFA GP is the "gold standard" in the treatment of patients with persistent AF, do not respond to optimal therapy. The rear area of the pulmonary artery bifurcation is adjacent to the roof and part of the front of the left atrium. In the projection of this area are ganglionic plexus of the left atrium, the sympathetic nerve fibers of the pulmonary artery and baroreceptors main pulmonary artery.Recent studies have shown that radiofrequency denervation of the pulmonary artery improves the quality of life in patients with PH.

Noninvasive Blood Pressure Monitor Evaluation Including Performance During Dysrhythmias

Healthy

This protocol focuses on the evaluation of the GE noninvasive blood pressure parameter in subjects with dysrhythmias and normal sinus rhythm. The study follows the recommendations of the ANSI/AAMI SP10 Standard.

MASTER II - Microvolt T Wave Alternans Testing for Risk Stratification of Post MI Patients

Myocardial InfarctionArrhythmia2 more

The purpose of the study is to determine the usefulness of Microvolt T Wave Alternans (MTWA) testing of patients that have had a heart attack and have decreased pumping ability of the lower chamber of their heart. MTWA testing is a non-invasive test used to detect the likelihood of developing abnormally fast rhythms in the lower chambers of the heart. The objective of the study is to prove that if a patient has a positive MTWA test, they will be more likely to develop abnormally fast and dangerous rhythms in the lower chambers of the heart. The results of the study will help doctors to determine which patients would benefit the most from having an Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD) implanted.

Paroxysmal Atrial FibrillationPersistent Atrial Fibrillation1 more

The aim is to use the GRID to characterize the atrial substrate and develop a model for predicting recurrence rates after a single procedure using a PVI only approach and a contact catheter.

A Comparative Study of an Innovative 3-lead Wireless Water Resistant Holter System and a Conventional...

Cardiac Arrhythmia

Holter monitoring is one of the most widely used diagnostic methods to detect cardiac arrhythmias. Newer Holter monitors may provide some advantages over the more traditional ones. This study will compare the findings of a Holter exam using an innovative 3-lead wireless water resistant device with a conventional device.
