Prospective Evaluation Analysis and Kinetics Registry

Atrial Arrhythmia

In a cohort of patients electively treated for atrial arrhythmia with IV sotalol (initiation or dose escalation), this study will describe patient characteristics, short-term safety and efficacy, electrocardiographic monitoring, and PK and PD parameters (in a subset) associated with IV dosing approach.

EnSite Precision™ 2.0 Registry

Cardiac Arrhythmias

The objective of this registry is to assess and characterize the use and performance of the EnSite Precision™ Cardiac Mapping System and the EnSite Precision™ Software V2.0 in a variety of electrophysiological (EP) procedures and clinical settings. This registry will assess the clinical performance of the system in a controlled, real-world environment after commercial release. Up to 500 subjects will be enrolled in up to 50 sites worldwide. Data will be collected at enrollment/baseline, procedure and pre-discharge. There is no long-term follow-up required for this registry. The anticipated registry enrollment is about 6-7 months.

Medtronic Reveal LINQ™ In-Office 2 (RIO 2) Study United States

The primary purpose of the RIO 2 study is to demonstrate that when the Reveal LINQ™ insertable cardiac monitoring (ICM) system that records subcutaneous ECG insertion procedure performed in the in-office setting is as safe as LINQ™ insertions performed in the traditional hospital setting (operating room, cardiac catheterization or electrophysiology (EP) laboratory).

Effect of Monitoring System Design on Response Time to Cardiac Arrhythmias

To increase the potential for timely detection and treatment of cardiac events, hospitals have implemented a number of different cardio-respiratory monitoring methods for at-risk patients. The goal of this study is to compare different monitoring methods to determine the most efficient method to monitor hospitalized patients - the method that will lead to the quickest response to critical heart rhythms. The investigators will then test the efficiency of this monitoring method by implementing it in a new patient care unit.

People with chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension (high blood pressure) and cardiac (heart) arrhythmias tend to go to the doctor more often and have more tests done than those without those diseases. This can lead to increasing costs of healthcare and extra visits to doctors and healthcare facilities. There are now medical devices that can be used at home to monitor blood sugar, blood pressure, heart rhythms as well as other measurements. There have been some studies which show that when people take their own health readings, they are better able to control their disease, stay healthier and go to the doctor less often. In order to participate in the study participants will have been diagnosed with 1 or more of the following: Diabetes, Hypertension, Cardiac Arrhythmias. This study is designed to test those devices and see if they can help participants stay healthier through the recording and tracking of health measurements. Investigators will also be testing how easy it is to use these devices and whether or how easy it is to fit them in their daily schedule. Participants will be given an iPhone for use during the study and their recordings will be stored and displayed on the phone.

The study investigated 100 subjects, both genders, with chronic Chagas disease, confirmed by at least two distinct serological tests, and classified according to Los Andes classification in a long term follow-up aiming at identifying the predictive value of the signal-averaged electrocardiogram for cardiac death and ventricular tachycardia. All subjects admitted to the study were submitted to clinical history taking, physical examination, and noninvasive assessment, including blood pressure measurement, resting 12-lead surface electrocardiogram, 24h ambulatory electrocardiogram monitoring, M-Mode/two-dimensional echocardiogram, signal-averaged electrocardiogram in both time and frequency domains. Selected subjects were further submitted to treadmill stress test and coronary angiography to rule out coronary heart disease. Subjects were followed by non-investigational primary care assistance at three to six months scheduled clinical visits on an outpatients basis. Both noninvasive and invasive evaluation during follow-up were requested at discretion of primary evaluation. Adverse outcomes were ascertained by review of medical records and active contact to either study subjects or their relatives.
