Use of Prophylactic Lubricating Drops After Cataract Surgery
Dry EyeCataract Surgery2 moreThis is a randomised controlled trial to assess the use of prophylactic lubricant eye-drops for 6 weeks following uncomplicated, routine cataract surgery to improve patient satisfaction and symptoms of dry eye, compared to controls.
Repeatability in Measurements of Two ssOCT and One OLCR Biometer
Cataract SenileAchieving high accuracy and precision in ocular biometry has become primordial for cataract surgery, due to the shift of cataract surgery from a rehabilitation procedure to a refractive one. Aim of this study is to determine the repeatability of ocular biometric parameters obtained using three biometry devices, two ss-OCT biometers and an OLCR device.

Hard Nuclear CataractCorneal Endothelial Cell1 moreApproximately 60 participants at Eye Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University during January,2017 to June 2021 will be enroll in our study. And dived them randomly into 2 groups:Progressive Cracking Technique (30 eyes) and Conventional Chop Technique (30 eyes) .
Influence of Capsular Tension Ring on IOL-capsular Complex After Cataract Surgery in Patients With...
High MyopiaCapsular Tension RingThe IOL-capsular complex is formed after cataract surgery and intraocular lens (IOL) implantation.Early postoperative mechanical wrapping of the anterior and posterior capsules plays a significant role in preventing IOL decentration and tilt, as well as formation of the IOL-capsular complex which reduces the incidence of posterior cataract opacity. Capsular tension rings were first introduced in the early 1990s for loosening and tightening the lens bag and maintaining the equatorial contour of the bag after cataract surgery.Today, capsular tension rings of many different designs are in use.The capsular tension rings can be used in eyes with fragile and split zonular fibers, as well as pseudoexfoliation, high myopia, Marfan syndrome, mature cataract and lens subluxation. The capsular tension ring reduces the incidence of decentration and tilt of the IOL by reducing capsular contraction. In addition, multi-focus IOL implantation combine with capsular tension ring result in smaller high-order aberrations in our eyes compared to cataract surgery with multi-focus IOL implantation alone. For patients with high myopia, they often have a longer axial length and a larger capsule diameter, which reduces the rotational stability of the IOL and may lead to tilt ,decentration and displacement of IOL.Currently, there is no literature guidance to compare the results of cataract surgery combined with or without capsular tension ring implantation in patients with high myopia. Our hospital has Swept-source Optical Coherence Tomography ( SS-OCT,Casia2, TOMEY, Japan), which can accurately photograph the process of IOL capsule bending and the changes of lens position after cataract surgery. SS-OCT can be used to evaluate the influence of capsular tension ring on the dynamic changes of IOL-capsular complex in patients with high myopia after cataract surgery.
Prospective Clinical Study of Preoperative and Postoperative Unilateral Mild Cataract Patients
Cataract SenileThis is to compare preoperative and postoperative binocular functional vision in patients with unilateral intraocular len(IOL) in one eye and mild cataract in the fellow eye.
Outcome of Zeiss AT LARA EDOF Lens Implantation in Vitrectomized Eyes
Vitreous DisorderCataractTo determine the surgical outcome and patient satisfaction in patients who underwent AT LARA lens implantation during or after vitrectomy at a relatively young age (around 55 years of age), mostly to treat (urgent) retinal detachment.
A Intra-patient Comparison of Closed Loop and Plate Haptic Toric Intraocular Lenses
CataractDuring cataract surgery an artificial lens is implanted in the eye. These artificial lenses are called intraocular lenses (IOLs) and there are many different types of IOL designs. Your eyes have astigmatism, which is a normal and common characteristic of the eye. If left uncorrected the astigmatism would mean that you would need to wear spectacles for viewing distance objects. New IOL designs called toric IOLs help to correct the astigmatism to improve your vision after cataract surgery. This study has been designed to look at how well a toric IOL corrects this astigmatism so that you do not need to wear spectacles for viewing distance objects. There are many designs of these toric IOLs and for this study we are looking to compare two different designs of toric IOLs by putting one lens in your right eye and a different type of lens in your left eye. Both lenses are commercially available and are commonly implanted IOLs. Using new non-invasive methods we hope to be able to better judge the visual performance of these lenses and the ability of these lenses to correct astigmatism. In addition the study will involve imaging and examining the IOLs to determine the prevalence of any post-operative complications.
Effect of Topical Brimonidine on Post Cataract Surgery Corneal Edema
Corneal EdemaVisual AcuityMost patients undergoing cataract surgery suffer from corneal edema after the surgery. Brimonidine drops are a well known and safe Anti-glaucoma medication. the investigators have made several clinical observations that patients receiving Brimonidine drops had a faster resolution of their corneal edema even if they had normal intra-ocular pressure. The investigators believe that administering topical Brimonidine to patients with significant post operative corneal edema will hasten the resolution of their corneal edema.
