Safety and Efficacy of HydroLenz for Vitrectomy-Induced Lens Opacities
Pars Plana VitrectomyThe primary objective of this study is to provide safety data for two different dosages of HydroLenz. Secondary objectives are to provide preliminary data to determine whether HydroLenz has the same effect in humans as it does in the porcine model; to confirm the reliability of methods for evaluating lens opacity; and, to acquire information that can be used to design the pivotal study.
In-vivo Behavior of Asqelio Monofocal Biaspheric Intraocular Lens
CataractIntraocular Lens ComplicationThis is a study to evaluate the 24 month postoperative incidence and intensity of posterior capsular opacity in patients submitted to cataract surgery and implanted with a hydrophobic monofocal IOL.
Intracameral Antibiotic Safety Study
Intracameral AntibioticsCataract Surgery4 moreThe goal of this study is to determine the safety (but not efficacy in preventing infection) of sterile-packaged and pre-loaded injectable solutions of both vancomycin and moxifloxacin at certain dosages and concentrations as prepared by a compounding pharmacy when used intracamerally at the time of cataract surgery.
Comparison of Visual Outcomes After Implantation of the Synthesis Plus and Synthesis Plus Toric...
CataractSurgery1 moreProspective controlled monocentric study to determine the non-inferiority of the distance-corrected intermediate visual acuity at 66 cm of the SYNTHESIS PLUS TORIC with respect to the SYNTHESIS PLUS IOL.
Measurement of Antioxidant Activity on Postoperative Inflammation in Patients Undergoing Ophthalmic...
CataractMyopiaThis trial hypothesized that novel laser refractive surgery techniques (PRK, LASIK, SMILE) or laser-assisted cataract surgery (FLACAS) could suppress postoperative inflammation and improve recovery in patients by reducing oxidative stress generated by the surgical procedure. It is also intended to verify whether the new laser technology is necessary for clinical use in groups with low antioxidant activity through the detection of antioxidant activity in the eyes of patients.
Comparison of Two Different Intraocular Lenses Implanted With Yamane Technique
Secondary Cataract SurgeryAphakia1 moreIn case of instability or rupture of capsular bag occurs during cataract surgery, Yamane technique is one of the options to fix intracocularlens' haptics. Yamane technique uses a double-needle technique that seamlessly fixes the haptics intrascleral by creating a scleral tunnel. Aberrations, IOL tilting or even dislocations might occur and influence the final outcome of IOL implantation. The aim of this study is the evaluation of the postoperative tilt of Kowa PU6AS using Yamane technique. Furthermore of the corrected and uncorrected visual acuity and the anterior chamber depth are being developed.
Posterior Capsule Opafication of Different Hydrophobic Acrylic Intraocular Lenses: Vivinex iSert...
Age Related CataractsOn the day of surgery, the first eye to be operated is randomised to receive a Vivinex , HOYA Surgical Optics GmbH or an Clareon, Alcon, Fort Worth, Texas. The second eye to be operated receives the other IOL type. A complete biomicroscopic examination, visual acuity testing using autorefractometer, contrast sensitivity testing, and standardised retroillumination photography for PCO evaluation, will be performed 6 month (30-60 days), 1.5 years (± 3 months) and 3 (± 3 months) years postoperatively.
Clinical Results of a Monofocal Aspheric Bitoric Intraocular Lens With Plate Haptics in Hyperopic...
AstigmatismFar Sightedness1 moreObservational post-marketing study with prospective follow-up of CE marked medical devices aimed at the treatment of hyperopia and astigmatism in patients with cataract. The objective is to evaluate the clinical results of the implantation of the monofocal aspheric bitoric intraocular lens (IOL) with AT-TORBI 709 plate haptics in cataract surgery of hyperopic eyes with astigmatism.
Shanghai High Myopia Study
High MyopiaCataract2 moreThe purpose of this study is to evaluate the long-term visual outcome of the cataract surgery using a large-scale and comprehensive database of high myopic cataract and age-related cataract patients. The investigators will further investigate into the various genetic and environmental factors that may contribute to the pathogenesis of high myopic cataract.
Manhattan Vision Screening and Follow-Up Study (NYC-SIGHT)
GlaucomaVision Impairment and Blindness3 moreThe investigators are conducting a 5-year prospective, cluster-randomized controlled trial, funded by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), which provides vision screenings to underserved, vulnerable New York City residents living in affordable housing buildings in Harlem and Washington Heights.
