A Study to Assess Treatment Outcomes of abobotulinumtoxinA and onabotulinumtoxinA Treatments in...
Spasticity Related to Any Cause Except Cerebral PalsyThe aim of the study is to describe treatment outcomes of abobotulinumtoxinA (aboBoNT-A) and onabotulinumtoxinA (onaBoNT-A) treatments, after one injection of either treatment, in toxin-naïve adult patients with upper and/or lower limb spasticity at a single National Health Service (NHS) centre in the United Kingdom (UK).
Relationship Between Trunk Control and Hand Function and Quality of Life
Cerebral PalsyQuality of Life1 moreIncreasing quality of life and improving hand functions are very substantial treatment goals for physiotherapy and rehabilitation. Trunk control is important for these parameters in children with hemiparetic and diparetic Cerebral Palsy.
Investıgatıon Of The Awareness Of The Parents Of Cerebral Palsy Children
Cerebral PalsyParents3 moreParents of Cerebral Palsy (CP) children participate in treatments, education services and general medical check-ups; They have many responsibilities such as the use of drugs, devices, educational materials. Therefore, involving parents of CP children in the rehabilitation process provides a stronger rehabilitation service for their children. In the studies, it was stated that the active participation of the parents in the physiotherapy and rehabilitation process increases the success rate of the treatment and the participation of the parents plays a key role for the success of the physiotherapy and rehabilitation.
Incontinence and MRI Results in Children With Cerebral Palsy
Cerebral PalsyLower Urinary Tract SymptomsMore than 50 % of children and adults with cerebral palsy experience lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS). This can negatively influence quality of life of the child and the total social environment. Previous research demonstrated that the brain lesion, characteristic for cerebral palsy (CP), is a prognostic factor for the functional abilities of a child with CP. Previous research within our department demonstrated functional impairment as a risk factor for incontinence. This demonstrates an indirect connection between the brain lesion and incontinence of a child with CP. However, this connection isn't alway correct as some children with high functionality also demonstrate incontinence. As bladder control is also regulated by higher brain centers, the present study wants to investigate a direct connection between the brain lesion of the child, visible by means of MRI, and the incontinence status of the child. .
Movement Characterization in Spastic/Dystonic Cerebral Palsy Using Haptic Feedback in Virtual Reality...
Cerebral PalsyMixed2 moreThis game-like intervention using virtual reality will provide an objective and quantitative characterization of dystonia and spasticity presentations in cerebral palsy, even if combined, through the process of motor learning. This intervention could have a therapeutic benefit in the rehabilitation of children with cerebral palsy.
