Smartphone App for Analysis of General Movements in Young Infants
Cerebral PalsyAnalysis of spontaneous movements in young infants from video recordings is recommended as an early medical assessment tool for prediction of cerebral palsy in high-risk infants. Such video recording have previously been performed in follow-up programs at hospitals using semi standardized video set-ups. The research group behind this study develops a smart-phone application that makes it possible for parents to video film their infant spontaneous movements at home, upload and send the video for analysis at the hospital provided by experts. The objectives of the study are to assess the feasibility of the In-Motion app for video recording of infant spontaneous movements, upload and send the video to St. Olavs Hospital in Trondheim, Norway, for assessment, and how parents experience this. 90-120 high-risk infants from Norway, Denmark, Belgium, USA, Great Britain and India will participate. Parents will record their infant spontaneous movements and answer questionnaires. Video quality will be evaluated by experts within the field and their use for computer-based assessment will be evaluated.

Optic Discs in Children With Cerebral Palsy
Cerebral PalsyHypothesis: Children born prematurely (between 8 and 9 months) with brain damage have an abnormal appearance of the optic nerve (nerve in eye) that resembles glaucoma (cupping) compared to those born before 8 months. Purpose: to see how often children who are born prematurely and have suffered brain damage, have abnormal appearance of the optic nerve (nerve in the eye) which mimics glaucoma (cupping). This optic nerve cupping is most often seen when children are born after 8 months and is rarely seen in children born before 8 months. Children born prematurely are known to have injuries to their brain as they are not yet fully developed. This often involves the part of the brain that involves vision. Clinicians have observed that these children have an abnormal appearance of the optic nerve (nerve in the eye), which has the appearance of glaucoma. These children often undergo extensive and often unnecessary invasive tests to rule out glaucoma. The investigators wish to establish the prevalence of this abnormality so that children are not subjected to unnecessary investigations. The investigators also want to understand how the optic nerve cupping (similar clinical picture as glaucoma) is related to the approximate timing and extent of the brain injury, the type of cerebral palsy and the motor disability of these children.
L Test in Children With Cerebral Palsy
Cerebral PalsyThe aim of the study was to investigation of the validity and reliability of the L test in children with cerebral palsy. Eighty children with CP with mean age of 11.60±3.85 (56 boys, 24 girls) were included in the study. ICC ((Intraclass Correlation Coefficient) was used to assess interclass, intraclass and test- retest validity of the L test. Two independent examiners made L test, for the inter-rater reliability, twice within 1 day for the test-retest reliability. The minimal clinical important difference at 95% confidence interval intra-class correlation coefficient and standard error of measurements were calculated. The correlations of L test with Timed up and Go Test (TUG) and Timed up and Down Stairs Test (TUDS) were assessed for concurrent validity.

Cerebral PalsyThe Canadian Cerebral Palsy (CP) Registry is a confidential, nation-wide collection of medical and social information about children with cerebral palsy. The Registry was first implemented in 2003 in 6 administrative regions of Quebec and was later extended to paediatric centres in Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia. Over 1850 children living with Cerebral Palsy have been registered so far. The Registry is the first national registry for cerebral palsy in North America.

Genetic Etiology in Patients With Cerebral Palsy
Cerebral PalsyGenetic Disease3 moreCerebral palsy (CP) is a permanent disorder of movement or posture due to non-progressive impairments of the developing brain. Current estimates indicate that as many as 30% of CP cases may be genetic in nature. In our study, the investigators will re-examine the data of children with CP, who are registered in the Slovenian National Registry of Cerebral Palsy. All children will be invited to the University Children's Hospital, University Medical Centre Ljubljana, where they will be re-examined by a neurologist. Blood for genetic testing will be taken. In the case of confirmed genetic ethiology of CP, the search for specific therapy will be possible.
