Individualized Virtual Reality in the Upper Extremity Rehabilitation of Hemiparetic Cerebral Palsy...
Cerebral PalsySpasticThis study aimed to investigate the effect of individualized virtual reality therapy on upper extremity functions of children with hemiparetic cerebral palsy. Forty children (26 boys, 14 girls) with spastic hemiparetic cerebral palsy were included in this study. The primary outcome measure of this study was the Quality of Upper Extremity Skill Test, secondary outcome measures were the Modified Ashworth Scale and the "Reaching Map Test". The children were randomized into two groups. The first group was received conventional physiotherapy and virtual reality therapy for 60 minutes. The second group was received conventional physiotherapy and, activity training which the same movement patterns with virtual reality games for 60 minutes. Both treatments were given three times a week for eight weeks.
Full-spectrum Medical Cannabis for Treatment of Spasticity in Patients With Severe Forms of Cerebral...
ChildrenAdult4 moreThe proposed study is a double-blind, placebo-controlled, cross over study on 60 children aged 5 to 25 years with severe spasticity related to cerebral palsy (CP), level IV and V with full-spectrum medical cannabis product of CBD/THC ratio 10:1.
FES Assisted Cycling in Children With CP
Cerebral Palsy Spastic DiplegiaThis project proposes to assess if Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) assisted cycling can improve the cycling ability, muscle strength, cardiovascular health, quality of life, self perception and functional mobility of adolescents with CP better than a volitional cycling program or a non-intervention control group.

Effect of Task-oriented Circuit Training on Gait Kinematics, Pelvic Symmetry and Endurance in Children...
Cerebral PalsySpasticStatement of the problem: Does task-oriented circuit training have an effect on kinematic parameters of gait, pelvic symmetry and trunk endurance in children with hemiplegic CP? Purpose of the study: This study aims to: Investigate the effect of exercise-based task-oriented circuit training on gait kinematics including (Stride length, step length, cadence, walking speed, ankle dorsiflexion angle in initial contact, knee extension angle in midstance and hip extension angle in terminal stance) in children with hemiplegic CP. Determine the effect of task-oriented circuit training on pelvic symmetry including (Anterior and lateral pelvic tilting) in children with hemiplegic CP. Examine the effect of task-oriented circuit training on trunk endurance including (prone plank test, timed partial curl up test, front abdominal power test and unilateral supine bridge test) in children with hemiplegic CP.

Adaptive Dance Exercise Program on Trunk Control, Balance and Functional Mobility in Cerebral Palsy...
Cerebral PalsyThe human body needs a system to control and coordinate its action plan in order to perform an effective action. This system works irregularly or inappropriately in people with Cerebral Palsy (CP). An alternative to controlling these disorders is automatic movement modulation such as dance. Dance, whose main purpose is to achieve a satisfying motor performance, increases motor learning with sensory, perceptual and emotional components. Although the effects of dance therapy on functionality, balance and participation in people with CP have been previously examined in the literature, it has been reported that the evidence is insufficient and more studies are needed. The aim of this study is to examine the effects of adaptive dance exercise program on trunk control, balance and functional mobility in children and adolescents with Cerebral Palsy.
The Effect of Parent-based Occupational Therapy
Cerebral PalsyParentsBackground/Aims Parents of children with cerebral palsy face higher levels of stress, anxiety and depression, sadness, exhaustion and burnout. Parent-based therapies have been found to increase parents' satisfaction with therapy, parent-child interactions and reduced parental stress. This study examined the effects of parent-based occupational therapy on stress levels, coping skills, and emotional skills and competencies of parents of children with cerebral palsy. Methods A total of 15 children and their parents who were admitted to the paediatric rehabilitation unit for occupational therapy were divided into two groups (control group: n=7, study group: n=8) using the coin toss randomisation method. The control group received standard occupational thearpy, while the study group received parent-based occupational therapy for 45 minutes a session, twice a week, until 10 sessions had been completed. Participants were evaluated before and after the intervention.
Aerobic Training On Spasticity And Gross Motor Function In Children With Diplegic Cerebral Palsy...
Cerebral PalsyTo determine the effects of aerobic training on spasticity and gross motor function in children with diplegic Cerebral palsy.Cerebral palsy (CP) is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by abnormalities of muscle tone, movement and motor skills, and is attributed to injury to the developing brain. . The spastic CP is found to be the commonest presentation followed by athetoid, ataxic and mixed types. Children with cerebral palsy (CP) have decreased capacity to participate in play and sports activities .Reduced capacity to perform typical childhood activities contributes to low habitual physical activity and declining gross motor function in adolescence. Exercise opportunities are restricted in the population of cerebral palsy with spasticity, and so muscle strength may be reduced by disuse. Aerobic Training via Lower-extremity cycling is a rehabilitation tool used by physical therapists to improve spasticity, gross motor function and cardio-respiratory fitness, appears well-suited as a therapeutic intervention for children with CP. The tools used will be GMFM-66 and Modified Ashworth Scale. Study will be conducted on Thirty two patients in two Groups. Group A will be Control Group that will be provided with conventional physiotherapy (Stretching exercises , Trunk control training, walk and breathing exercises) and Group B will be Experimental Group that will be provided with conventional physiotherapy with cycling for 30 minutes with three sessions per week over the period of 12 weeks. Data will be analyzed using spss 22.0.
Effectiveness of Dual Task Exercise Training in Children With Cerebral Palsy
Cerebral PalsyCerebral palsy (CP) is the most common neurological disorder in children and one of the major causes of motor disability. CP causes changes in postural and sensory integration, balance, coordination disorders and muscle weakness due to problems in muscle tone. An effective rehabilitation program is of great importance in solving many problems that can be associated with decreased balance control. Researchers have stated that rehabilitation programs with repetitive special tasks are effective. The aim of the study was to compare the effects of conventional physiotherapy and dual task exercise training in addition to conventional physiotherapy on balance, mobility, physical performance and quality of life in children with cerebral palsy.
