Repetitive Thinking in FibroMyalgia and Attentional Bias

Chronic Pain

Theoretical models of chronic pain hypothesize a privileged treatment of pain-related information that would be the basis of avoidance behaviors in chronic pain. This privileged treatment, also called attentional bias, has been found experimentally in chronic pain. Meta-analyses confirmed that but leaded the question of the difference found between bias in period of attention orientation and bias in period of maintained attention. One of the hypotheses is to consider one or more cognitive processes that would "fix" the attention around significant perceived problems and that would hinder the attentional disengagement and the reorientation of attention towards neutral or positive stimuli. In view of the scientific literature in psychopathology but also in chronic pain we think that the negative repetitive thoughts (RNT) variable is one of these processes. So the investigators want to better understand the difference of attentional bias at different moments of the attentional process by interrogating the Repetitive Thinking variable. More specifically the investigators test the Attentional Bias hypothesis in Fibromyalgia. Patient with Fibromyalgia will be recruited at the Pain Center of CHU-Amiens. Patients will complete different scales and also the visual probe task. First, the investigators hypothesize the attention bias for pain-related information in the FM group is correlated with the level of negative repetitive thinking in the maintained attention phase. Second, the investigators hypothesize the attention bias is more important in the attention maintenance phase (1250 ms) than in the attention orientation phase (500 ms).

Description of Chronic Pain in Emergencies Room and Medical Care Modalities

Chronic PainEmergency Department

The rate of patients with chronic pain (CP) is 40% in patients with acute pain in emergency department (ED). Patients with CP come more frequently to ED than patients without CP. Reasons for their visit to ED are often in relation with this CP. Few studies have been interested to management modalities of these patients in ED. The investigators are going to realize a prospective observational study in one center. The hypothesis is that patients with chronic pain are less satisfied of ED management that patients without CP.

Objective Pain Score for Chronic Pain Clinic Patients

Chronic Pain

Currently, there is no observational pain scale for use in the outpatient setting for adult patients. An observational pain scale can allow for objective measurement of pain in patients over time and after treatment without the bias associated with self-report. Currently chronic pain patients are asked to rate their pain many times throughout their care, often over years. This introduces a bias in reporting as a pain a person is currently experiencing will seem more severe then a remembered pain event. A behavioral pain scale would allow for an objective measurement of pain that is reliable across multiple raters and comparable over time, which can help in judging the success of pain treatments.

Evaluation of an Opioid Decrease Strategy in Chronic

Chronic Pain

Increase in the consumption of analgesics observed in many countries with a mediatic crisis resulting in an increasingly frequent wish of patients to wean themselves from opiates. A recent update (B. Rolland 2017) suggests that upon initiation of an opioid analgesic treatment, the patient should be informed of the risk of opioid dependence and misuse. There is no clearly validated decay scheme in the event of dependence in patients with Chronic Non-Cancer Pain. Hypotheses: Possibility of a rapid decrease in opioid analgesic treatments at DCNC sensitized to the risk of DOP and MOP. (Protocol implemented: Multidisciplinary assessment, workshops and information sheet on chronic pain, treatments and risk of DOP, pharmacological and nonpharmacological adaptation) Highlight the need for additional information from patients and prescribers on the risk of DOP and MOP in DCNC.

Clinical Trial to Monitor the Efficacy of the Elosan Treatment by Applying Electrostatic

Chronic Pain

The Treatment Cabin 'Elosan cabin' is a closed, electrically insulated cabin for the short-term application of a high electrostatic voltage to the body of patients with chronic pain. Patients assigned will have 8 sessions in the treatment cabin, with an interval of 6 days between sessions. The existing therapies and painkillers will be continued at the discretion of the doctor.

Persistant Post-mastectomy Pain in Breast Cancer : Incidence and Risk Factors

Breast NeoplasmsPain3 more

Post Mastectomy Pain Syndrome (PMPS) is a major complication of breast surgery responsible for depression and disability. The project consists of a prospective cohort on patients going for oncological breast surgery at National Institute of Oncology of Rabat. Chronic postoperative pain (CPP) remains a disturbing and obscure clinical problem, which could last for more than 3 months after surgery. The aim of present study was to assess the prevalence of CPP, investigate its impact on life quality and explore its potential risk factors. After informed consent was signed, patients receiving surgery under general anesthesia in Peking Union Medical College Hospital and other medical centers participating in this study during 2018 will be included. Patients' preoperative information will be collected from medical record, including basic demographic data, primary disease and previous chronic diseases. Intraoperative information will be obtained from anesthesia record, including surgical scope, duration, length and location of incisions and blood loss. Acute pain will be evaluated in the ward of the department of surgery, when an app will be installed on patients' mobile phones. Our long-term postoperative follow-up would be performed by sending out survey questionnaires via this app in the 4th, 8th, 16th, 32th, and 48th weeks after surgery. The survey covers questions regarding the intensity, characteristic, location and impact on daily activities of CPP. Information regarding treatment of CPP will also be collected, if any. All the data gained will be summarized in our database and analyzed.
