Classifying and Predicting Long-term Pain and Function in Older Adults
Chronic PainPainThis project will use novel methods to detect clinically meaningful subgroups of older adults based on long-term trajectories of bothersome pain and function. It will then identify older adults at high risk of experiencing poor long-term pain and function. Anticipated results will provide new insights into long-term patterns of pain and function across the aging process and identify potential predictors of each trajectory.
Investigation of the Characteristics of Chronic Pain Developing After COVID-19
Covid19Coronavirus1 moreData on pain after COVID-19 were generally collected from hospitalized patients and only include information on acute pain conditions. However, the characteristics of the chronic pain experienced after COVID-19 are unknown. For this reason, the treatment and recommendations for patients who present with chronic pain after COVID-19 are not clear. Our goal is to determine the characteristics and risk factors of chronic pain developing in COVID-19 patients and to create specific treatment recommendations for these patient groups with further studies.
Pain Classification in Caregivers for Children With Cerebral Palsy
Chronic PainCerebral Palsy2 moreThe care of children with Cerebral Palsy is a process that continues for many years. Individuals who take care of them experience musculoskeletal pain due to the difficulties they experience and face pain that becomes chronic over time. For individuals who take care of children with CP, determining the types of chronic pain is important in order to clarify the classification criteria and for individuals to reach better living standards by tailoring the treatments they will receive. Therefore, the aim of the study is to determine the types of chronic pain in caregivers for children with cerebral palsy.

Translational Research in Pelvic Pain
EndometriosisBladder Pain Syndrome1 moreThis study aims to better understand the pathways leading to pain in women with two types of pelvic pain condition (endometriosis-associated pain and bladder pain syndrome) and determine whether these pathways can be used to subgroup patients.
HEALTHCARE STUDENTS' ATTITUDES TOWARDS PATIENTS WITH CHRONIC PAIN
Attitude to the Patient With Chronic PainAttitude of Health Care StudentsResearchers studied the attitude towards patients with chronic pain, it is a very important issue for the literature. The prevalence of chronic pain is very high in the world, however, patients with chronic pain state at every opportunity that patients are not sufficiently understood and stigmatized by healthcare professionals. In this article, researchers studied the validity and reliability of the scale of the attitude of healthcare professionals towards their patients with chronic pain in students studying in the field of health (medicine, physical therapy and rehabilitation, nursing). Researchers found that the Healthcare Professionals' Attitudes towards Patients with Chronic Pain Scale was valid and reliable in healthcare students. Thanks to this scale, students' attitudes towards patients with chronic pain will be measured, and an idea will be gained about the student's deficiency.
Peculiarities of Pain in Patients With Gunshot Wounds Depending on the Localization of the Wound...
Chronic PainChronic pain, in turn, is associated with a whole cohort of mutually aggravating factors - this can lead to the development of extremely serious long-term consequences. The features of pain in this category of patients have not been sufficiently studied. Taking into account continuity and consistency, clear and high-quality pain treatment is necessary at all stages of treatment.
Turkish Version of Pain Modulation Index
Chronic PainIn order to assess the validity and reliability of the Turkish version of Pain Modulation Index, 125 volunteers with chronic pain were enrolled in the study. Test and re-test method was used to assess reliability and correlation analyses with Pain Detect, visual analog scale pain and central sensitization inventory scores were used to assess validity of the questionnaire. Turkish version of the Pain Modulation Index was found to be a valid and reliable tool for evaluating chronic pain.
Study to Test the Value of a Pain Modulation Test in Predicting Persistent Postoperative Pain After...
Chronic PainAcute PainThe purpose of this study is to test the hypothesis that a preoperative test of pain modulation predicts persistent pain 4 months after breast cancer surgery. In addition, a risk score for the prediction of persistent pain will be developed from parameters available before surgery.
Effect of Chemotherapy on Pain Sensitivity and Patient-reported Symptoms
Breast CancerChronic PainMany breast cancer survivors report chronic pain that develops or worsens following chemotherapy. The impact of chemotherapy on the development of chronic pain is uncertain. In this proposal, we are studying the impact of chemotherapy on a patient's sensitivity to pain. We are also investigating whether a patient's sensitivity to pain is related to how many symptoms she experiences during treatment.
