Open Radical Prostatectomy and Erector Spinae Plane Block
Prostate CancerAnesthesia3 moreIn the proposed study, a bilateral erector spinae plane (ESP) block [10 ml 1%lidocaine + 10 ml 0.5 % bupivacaine vs normal saline (NS)] will be performed preoperatively to patients undergoing open radical prostatectomy. Analgesic efficacy will be assessed on the numeric rating scale (NRS) along with intra- and 24 h post-operative narcotic consumption.
TAP Block On Abdominal Surgery Patients With General Anesthesia
Post-Op ComplicationPain1 moreINTRODUCTION: The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of tranversus abdominis plane (TAP) block placed postoperatively using ultrasound guidance for patients with caesarean section, myomectomy and hysterectomy under general anesthesia by eliminating additional pain caused by surgical incision. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The study has been planned to investigate the postoperative analgesia of 50 patients with TAP blocks applied and non-applied between the ages of 18-65, who will pass abdominal surgery. Study has been conducted in a prospective, randomized and controlled manner. Patients have been classified as those who have undergone TAP block (group: I) and those without block (group: II).
Pain After Laparoscopic Hysterectomy
Postoperative PainThe investigators evaluated postoperative pain after total laparoscopic hysterectomy. Two arm are evaluated. During laparoscopic hysterectomy, in one arm; abdominal cavity was washed by saline at normal room temperature. In another arm; abdominal cavity was washed heated saline . Postoperative pain was evaluated by using visual analogy scale.
Comparing the Effects of M-TAPA and TAP Block on Postoperative Analgesia in TAH
Postoperative PainAim is to compare the postoperative analgesic efficacy of M-TAPA block and TAP block and their effect on opioid consumption in patients undergoing open total abdominal hysterectomy (TAH) surgery.
Nonpharmacological Management of Postoperative Pain in Children
Orthopedic DisorderPost Operative PainThe 3 non-pharmacological methods of online gaming, cold application, and placebo were chosen to reduce postoperative pain in children undergoing orthopedic and traumatology surgery. The effect of these 3 non-pharmacological methods on pain reduction was measured and compared.
The Effect of Acupressure on Preoperative Anxiety and Postoperative Pain and Nausea-Vomiting
Anxiety StatePain2 moreThe study was conducted in the ENT Clinic of Mersin Şehir Training and Research Hospital between June 1 and December 1, 2021, with a total of 60 adult patients, 30 in the study group and 30 in the control group, who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria.
The Effect of Comedy Film on Preoperative Anxiety and Postoperative Pain Level.
General SurgeryAnxiety1 moreWhen we look at the literature, studies examining the effect of having patients watch comedy films on anxiety and pain are limited. However, it was observed that the anxiety and pain levels of oncology patients who underwent surgery decreased by watching comedy movies. Therefore, in order to use the healing effects of humor, our study was planned to determine the effect of watching comedy films on the level of anxiety and postoperative pain in patients undergoing abdominal surgery.
The Effect of Music Therapy on Pain Level and Analgesic Consumption
Orthopedic SurgeryPain2 morePain is a common condition experienced by patients in long-term health care, rehabilitation and acute situations, due to various surgical interventions and invasive procedures, and postoperative pain is an important symptom experienced by patients during the surgical recovery process. The International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP) defines pain as an unpleasant emotional experience associated with actual or potential tissue damage (Lok, Ibrahim and Sidani 2020; Çavdar and Akyüz 2017; Martin-Saavedra, Vergara-Mendez, Talero-Gutiérrez 2018). Orthopedic surgical interventions are considered to be one of the most painful surgical procedures, and pain control requires a multifaceted approach that includes non-pharmacological techniques (Allred et al. 2010). Music therapy, which is one of the non-traditional treatment methods, is used to reduce pain (Nilson 2008). Music can easily be included in nursing care because it is applied without the physician's request and causes very little legal and ethical concerns (Simcock et al. 2008). However, due to the lack of awareness about the effectiveness of music therapy, it is not often used as an intervention. Inadequate pain control causes a decrease in patient satisfaction and deterioration of the healing process (Lukas 2004). Therefore, this study was planned as a randomized controlled experimental study to determine the effect of music therapy on the pain level of patients undergoing orthopedic surgery.
Evaluating Pain Outcomes of Caudal vs Ilioinguinal Nerve Block in Children Undergoing Orchiopexy...
Testicle UndescendedPain1 moreSurgical intervention to treat undescended testis is a very common pediatric surgical procedure, often performed using an inguinal incision or subscrotal incision approach. Children who undergo orchiopexy can suffer from a significant degree of discomfort postoperatively. The investigators are evaluating the effectiveness of an ultrasound guided caudal-epidural (CE) block to an US guided ilioinguinal/iliohypogastric (IIG/IHG) nerve block in achieving post operative analgesia following a orchiopexy repair. It is hypothesized that US guided IIG/IHG nerve block leads to more effective pain control post-operatively while in hospital relative to an US guided CE block for orchiopexy surgery.
Ketamine vs Hydromorphone
Laparoscopic Gastric BypassObesity2 moreThis study will help to determine if investigators can minimize narcotic use in laparoscopic gastric bypass patients while maintaining adequate pain control. This will allow investigators to minimize the negative side effects of narcotics which is a goal in this population.
