This is an open-label, multiple-dose, safety study of DIC075V in patients with acute post-operative pain following abdominal or orthopedic surgery.

Primary Hypothesis: 1. The analgesic effect of etoricoxib 120 mg administered 1 hour preoperatively is greater than that of placebo in the treatment of postoperative pain.

Thoracotomy for lung tumor or for minimally invasive direct coronary artery bypass (MIDCAB) surgery, may be associated with debilitating pain. Ketamine was shown to enhance opioid antinociception and prevent opioid resistance. We hypothesize that ketamine given with morphine would lower morphine consumption and narcotic related side effects after thoracotomy and provide superior analgesia to morphine given alone.

This research study will look at the pain relieving ability and safety of using repeated doses of intravenous (into the vein [IV]) acetaminophen in the treatment of moderate postoperative pain after planned or elective abdominal laparoscopic surgery, such as a laparoscopic abdominal hysterectomy or laparoscopic cholecystectomy (removal of the gall bladder).

The purpose of this study is to determine whether the CollaRx Bupivacaine implant is safe and effective in reducing the amount of narcotic pain medication needed to control pain during the first 24 hours after abdominal hysterectomy surgery.

This is a randomized, prospective, double-blind pilot study designed to evaluate the potential effectiveness of pregabalin in post-operative pain management for patients who have sustained a fracture.

Uterine contraction pain is a common problem after abortion. Optimal analgesic for such suffering is still needed to be guaranteed. Flurbiprofen Axetil is a target-distributable non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) functioning via block the synthesis of prostaglandin E (PGE). The investigators hypothesized that Flurbiprofen Axetil could suppress the uterine contraction pain after abortion effectively.

Paracetamol is commonly used to reduce pain after operations. Recently anaesthetists have been using bigger doses of paracetamol because it has been suggested that bigger doses will work better. However these bigger doses have never been assessed scientifically in adult patients to see if they work better, and it has not been determined at which dose the maximum effect in reducing pain occurs. We We will investigate whether a 90 mg per kg body weight dose works better than a 60 mg per kilogram dose, in reducing pain after wisdom tooth extraction. We will also examine the pharmacokinetics (the way the body removes the drug) of paracetamol, and whether paracetamol changes the way blood clots at these doses. We will also examine whether these doses are safe, by monitoring liver enzymes, and making sure the blood level of paracetamol is not greater than that previously recognised to cause liver disease. The patients will be healthy volunteers scheduled to have wisdom tooth extraction. They will have blood taken at intervals for four hours after having the paracetamol. They will fill in pain scores at the same times they have blood taken.

The aim of the study is to evaluate the effect of local anesthetic (chlorhydrate of ropivacaine) to prevent chronic pain after breast surgery for cancer.

Evaluate the efficacy on postoperative pain of the positioning of a 0,5% bupivacaine soaked-tabotamp in gallbladder bed after videolaparoscopic cholecystectomy.
