Cognitive Rehab for Parkinson's
Parkinson's DiseaseMild Cognitive ImpairmentThis study will examine the feasibility of an at-home cognitive training program that incorporates both memory training and online computerized cognitive training (CCT) software. Data will also be collected to determine if this program improves thinking and memory as well as everyday function. The hypothesis is that memory and cognitive training combined , compared to memory training alone or will lead to greater improvements in cognitive performance and daily function.

Online Treatment of Cognitive Impairment and Insomnia in Cancer Survivors
CancerInsomnia1 moreThe investigators will answer the question of whether treating insomnia using Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) can improve perceived cognitive impairment (PCI) in cancer survivors compared to a waitlist control group. The investigators will recruit 124 people with insomnia and cognitive complaints who have completed cancer treatment at least 6 months prior to the study.

Cathodal tDCS in MCI: A Randomized, Double-Blind, Sham-Controlled Pilot Study
Mild Cognitive ImpairmentCognitive Impairment1 moreThis study evaluates the application of non-invasive brain stimulation in the treatment of Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) in adults aged 55-85. Half of the participants will receive transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS), while the other half will receive sham (like placebo) stimulation.

Sleep, Diet, Exercise and Older Persons
Cognitive ChangeCognitive DeclineTo examine the impacts of a cognitive yoga program and circuit resistance training on cognitive and physical performance with nutrition and sleep as modulating factors in healthy, older adults.

Open-label, Post-marketing, Prospective Study to Assess Impact of COVID-19 on Cognitive Function...
Cognitive DeclineCognitive Dysfunction3 moreThe objective of this study is to compare the impact of the coronavirus disease (SARS-CoV-2, or COVID-19) on cognitive function in the population of patients who have been diagnosed, treated and recovered from the COVID-19 infection versus patients who have not been infected. Primary endpoint is to evaluate the percentage of cognitive decline observed in both study arms (subjects with or without COVID-19 history) using assessments of Cognivue Clarity, MMSE and MoCA. Secondary endpoint is to see the correlation of Depression and anxiety scales (i.e., Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) and/or Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS)) and Cognivue scores while comparing the trend of difference between both study arms.

The Dortmund Vital Study: Impact of Biological and Lifestyle Factors on Cognitive Performace and...
Age-related Cognitive DeclineThe goal of the Dortmund Vital Study is to validate previous hypotheses and to generate and validate new hypotheses about the relationship of ageing, working conditions, genetic makeup, stress, metabolic functions, cardiovascular system, immune system, and mental performance over the lifespan with a focus on healthy working adults. The Dortmund Vital Study is a multidisciplinary longitudinal study involving the Departments of Ergonomics, Immunology, Psychology and Neurosciences, and Toxicology of the Leibniz Research Centre for Working Environment and Human Factors at the TU Dortmund (IfADo) in Dortmund, Germany, as well as several national and international cooperation partners.

Adderall XR and Processing Speed in Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
Impaired Processing SpeedCognitive Impairment1 moreCognitive impairment, or problems with thinking and memory, is common in multiple sclerosis (MS) and can occur independently of physical disability. It is the most common reason, along with physical fatigue, for MS patients to stop working. The most frequent complaint is problems with multi-tasking or thinking quickly, which corresponds to impairment in the cognitive domain of processing speed. Currently there is treatment available to prevent relapses and physical disability but there are no medications that have been shown to treat cognitive impairment. Amphetamines have been beneficial for selective attention and processing speed in attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and traumatic brain injury. This is study will determine whether Adderall XR improves objective measures of processing speed and attention in MS patients impaired in this cognitive domain, by comparing two doses of Adderall XR (5 and 10mg) to placebo before and after the medication is administered. The results of this study will help provide data to design a larger study to determine if Adderall XR, and potentially other amphetamine drugs, will help treat cognitive impairment in MS patients.

Virtual Reality Based Balance Training in People With Mild Cognitive Impairment
Distorted; BalanceMotor Deficit1 moreThe aim of the present study is to evaluate an innovative virtual reality-based balance training intervention for improving clinically relevant motor performances (balance and gait) in people with mild cognitive impairment. The investigators hypothesize that the virtual reality-based balance training intervention will improve balance and gait performances in people with mild cognitive impairment compared to a control group receiving usual care only.

Elder Surgery - Functional Recovery Following Beta Blockade
Post Operative Cognitive DysfunctionThis study proposes a prospective randomized study of elders undergoing elective major abdominal surgery to assess recovery following a unique anesthetic regimen incorporating a adrenergic receptor antagonist. The purposes of this study are to: to determine if using atenolol, a beta-blocker drug commonly used to treat high blood pressure and heart disease, as part of your anesthetic regimen will decrease complications that sometimes occur in elderly patients who are undergoing surgery and being given anesthesia. to see if it improves or quickens your recovery from anesthesia and surgery. to help investigators design better ways to administer anesthesia during surgery, especially in elderly patients, so that the complications and the time to recover from surgery and anesthesia can be decreased.

Efficacy and Safety of Armodafinil as Adjunctive Therapy in Schizophrenic Adults With Cognitive...
SchizophreniaThe primary objective of this study is to evaluate if adjunctive armodafinil treatment can improve the cognitive deficits in patients with schizophrenia
