Study of Safety and Functional Imaging of cG250 and Sunitinib in Patients With Advanced Renal Cell...

Renal Cell Carcinoma (RCC)

This clinical trial explores the safety, efficacy, and effects on functional imaging of cG250 monoclonal antibody (mAb) administered intravenously weekly in combination with daily oral sunitinib, in patients with advanced renal cell carcinoma.

Pentostatin and Alemtuzumab as a Preparative Regimen for Allogeneic Peripheral Blood Stem Cell Transplantation...

LeukemiaLymphoma5 more

This study tests the hypothesis that a purely immunosuppressive preparative regimen allows engraftment of related or unrelated allogeneic hematopoietic stem cells in subjects with high-risk malignancies, without causing the post-transplant myelosuppression (e.g., neutropenia, thrombocytopenia) that occurs with currently used reduced-intensity (nonmyeloablative) preparative regimens. This study incorporates both safety and efficacy endpoints and evaluates a novel preparative regimen of alemtuzumab plus continuous-infusion pentostatin, two immunosuppressive agents with different mechanisms of action, in recipients of related or unrelated allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.

Bevacizumab in Treating Patients With Unresectable or Metastatic Kidney Cancer

Kidney Cancer

RATIONALE: Monoclonal antibodies, such as bevacizumab, can block tumor growth in different ways. Some block the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Others find tumor cells and help kill them or carry tumor-killing substances to them. Bevacizumab may also stop the growth of kidney cancer by blocking blood flow to the tumor. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying the side effects and how well bevacizumab works in treating patients with unresectable or metastatic kidney cancer.

PEG-Interferon Alfa-2b and Sorafenib in Treating Patients With Unresectable or Metastatic Kidney...

Kidney Cancer

RATIONALE: PEG-interferon alfa-2b may interfere with the growth of tumor cells. Sorafenib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. It may also stop the growth of kidney cancer by blocking blood flow to the tumor. Giving PEG-interferon alfa-2b together with sorafenib may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: This phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of PEG-interferon alfa-2b and sorafenib in treating patients with unresectable or metastatic kidney cancer.

Evaluation of Sunitinib Malate in Patients With Von Hippel-Lindau Syndrome (VHL) Who Have VHL Lesions...

Von Hippel-Lindau SyndromeRenal Cell Carcinoma1 more

The goal of this clinical research study is to learn if sunitinib malate (SU011248) can help to control VHL. The safety of this drug will also be studied. Primary objectives: Evaluate safety of treatment with SU011248/sunitinib malate (50 mg daily dose for 4 weeks, then 2 weeks off) for 6 months in patients with Von Hippel-Lindau Syndrome (VHL) who have a measurable lesion undergoing surveillance Secondary objectives: Evaluate efficacy of treatment with SU011248/sunitinib malate (50 mg daily dose for 4 weeks, then 2 weeks off) for 6 months in patients with VHL who have a measurable lesion undergoing surveillance Correlative objectives: Evaluate quality of life of SU011248/sunitinib malate therapy in VHL patients Evaluate peripheral blood lymphocyte receptor phosphorylation in VHL patients taking SU011248/sunitinib malate (optional procedure) Correlate results of dynamic contrast-enhanced and diffusion weighted MRI and dynamic contrast enhanced CT with response and explore findings suggestive of surrogates of early response (optional procedure)
