Acute Lymphoblastic LeukemiaAcute Myeloid Leukemia60 more

This study collects blood and tissue samples from patients with cancer and without cancer to evaluate tests for early cancer detection. Collecting and storing samples of blood and tissue from patients with and without cancer to study in the laboratory may help researchers develop tests for the early detection of cancers.

Hybrid-sensor Breath Analysis for Colorectal Cancer Screening

Colorectal CancerPolyp of Colon

The aim of this project is to promote the breath volatile marker concept for colorectal cancer (CRC) screening by advancing developing the application of a novel hybrid analyzer for the purpose. The hybrid analyzer concept is expected to benefit of combining metal-oxide (MOX) and infrared spectrum (IR) sensor acquired data. The current study will be the first globally to address this concept in CRC detection. In addition, traditional methods, in particular, gas chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry (GC-MS) will be used to address the biological relevance of the VOCs emission from cancer tissue and will assist in further advances of the hybrid-sensing approach.

Establishment of a Tumor Bank for Blood Samples

Ovarian NeoplasmsBreast Neoplasms4 more

Establishment of a tumor bank, consisting of blood samples of tumor patients and healthy people as controls. The blood samples will be collected systematically together with the corresponding clinical data. The biological samples, the clinical date together with prospective experimental date constitute the entity of the tumor bank.

Molecular Basis for Variations in Hereditary Colorectal Cancer Syndromes

Hereditary Colorectal Cancer Syndrome

Objectives: To examine the variations in clinical features, survival outcomes, family history, and health behavior among proband patients who are known or suspected to have a hereditary colorectal cancer syndrome To compare the clinical features, survival outcomes, and health behavior of the proband vs. his/her family members who may or may not be affected by the hereditary colorectal cancer syndrome To explore for correlations between germline genetic variations in both the probands and family members with observed variations in the overall disease phenotype across probands and kindreds, within a given syndrome. Disease phenotype is defined to include: (1) clinicopathologic features including patient demographics and oncologic outcomes; (2) clinical manifestations of disease including the timing, spectrum and severity of CRC and extracolonic cancers. Genetic variations may include the specific codon mutated, the type of mutation and sequence alteration (e.g. nonsense, missense etc), chromosomal/gene copy number changes, and gene polymorphisms. To explore for correlations between germline genetic variations in both the probands and family members with observed variations in somatic CRC tumor biology, including tumor pathology and other tumor molecular markers

Multicenter Study on the Pathogenic Germline Gene Variants of Colorectal Polyposis in China

Colorectal Polyposis

Patients suspected of adenomatous polyposis were included. The criteria used were more than 10 polyps observed under colonoscopy, and pathological confirmation of adenoma. Clinical data and pedigree information were collected. The variants of 139 genes associated with different hereditary cancers and polyposis were screened by NGS, which was performed by Genetron Health on the HiSeqX-ten sequencing platform.
