Endothelial Cell Gene Networks of CVD

Coronary Heart Disease

The objective of this study is to identify relevant signature gene networks of cardiovascular disease in endothelial cells derived from circulating endothelial progenitor cells of individuals with established cardiovascular disease (CVD).

Physicians International CT Utilization Registry 2

Coronary Artery Disease

To determine the total plaque burden, plaque severity and composition of patients undergoing Cardiac CT who do not have any previous history of CVD. There are two cohorts: A retrospective follow-up for MACE endpoints of patients who underwent a CCTA >1 year ago as part of the Big PICTURE Trial, who meet the inclusion criteria of Big PICTURE 2. A prospective observational registry of patients referred to undergo CCTA with a 1 and 2 year follow-up.

Clinician Utilization of Corus CAD (or ASGES) in Primary Care Provider Decision Making

Coronary Artery DiseaseAngina Pectoris6 more

This retrospective study will investigate clinician behavior in diagnosing patients with possible obstructive coronary artery disease who received a Corus CAD (Age/Sex/Gene Expression score - ASGES) result compared to patients who did not have the test performed (matched control patients).

Predictors of Coronary Artery Calcium Progression in Adults With a Prior Zero Coronary Artery Calcium...

Coronary Artery DiseaseEndothelial Dysfunction1 more

This study is a non-randomized prospective cohort study that will define the rate of index atherosclerotic plaque development in adults with a prior coronary artery calcium (CAC) score of 0 given prior CAC zero > 5 years previous. Ancillary testing of serum, whole blood, and endothelial dysfunction will be performed to investigate any detectable systemic processes that predict CAC development.

Acute Kidney InjuryCoronary Artery Disease1 more

The purpose of this study is to compare the outcomes of Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) using smaller doses of contrast dye that are validated as being at low risk of causing injury to the kidneys, with the larger doses that are traditionally used contemporary practice.

Coronary Artery Study in Pediatric Heart Transplantation

Transplant Coronary Artery Disease

Transplant coronary artery disease (TCAD) is a significant cause of morbidity and mortality in pediatric heart transplantation (PHT). Understanding the pathophysiology and early detection along with attempted medical management are crucial in preventing advancement of the disease and retransplantation or mortality. Coronary angiogram, although routinely used is insensitive to detect early TCAD. Measurement of fractional flow reserve (FFR), coronary flow reserve (CFR) and index of microvascular resistance (IMR) using a doppler pressure and flow intracoronary wire may be more sensitive in evaluating the integrity of coronary vasculature and thus detect pre clinical TCAD. To the best of the investigators knowledge, measurement of these parameters has not been previously reported in PHT.

Optical Coherence Tomography Evaluation of a Biodegradable Polymer-based Drug-eluting Stent

Coronary Artery Disease

PONTINA aims at assessing by optical coherence tomography the neointimal coverage of the biodegradable polymer-based Biolimus A9-eluting stent (Biomatrix stent) after full drug elution and polymer biodegradation (6 months), at one month after this time-point (7 months) and, as a comparator, of its bare metal stent counterpart (Gazelle stent) at 1 month after implantation.

A Survey to Evaluate the Rate of Abnormal Glucose Tolerance Among Hong Kong Chinese Subjects With...

Coronary Heart DiseaseDiabetes Mellitus

Hypothesis: there is a high prevalence rate of diabetes, including asymptomatic undiagnosed glucose intolerance, among subjects with coronary heart disease in Hong Kong. A cross-sectional survey is planned to study the rate of undiagnosed diabetes and glucose intolerance among the Chinese patients with coronary heart disease in Hong Kong. The survey results will be important for us to plan the logistics to investigate and manage the potential glucose abnormality of our heart disease patient.
