Coronary Artery Geometry and the Severity of Coronary Atherosclerosis

Coronary Artery DiseaseAtherosclerosis2 more

The purpose of this study is to investigate the potential association of coronary artery geometry, based on coronary CT angiography (CCTA), with the complexity and the severity of coronary atherosclerosis.

Evaluation of Inflammatory Markers and Periodontal Viruses on Periodontitis Patients With CAD

PeriodontitisCoronary Artery Disease

To assess and compare the demographic variables, periodontal parameters, cardiac parameters and the expression of periodontal viruses (CMV, HSV and EBV) and inflammatory biomarkers(PTX-3, TLR-2 & TLR-4) in periodontally healthy and generalized periodontitis patients with and without coronary artery disease(CAD).

Hemodynamic Forces at Rest and Stress vs. Adenosine and Dobutamine Stress Cardiac Magnetic Resonance...

Coronary Artery Disease

Stress perfusion CMR has recently considered as one of the methods of choice for establishing the diagnosis of CAD based on its high diagnostic accuracy, lack of ionizing radiation as well as its ability to simultaneously assess the cardiac function, myocardial perfusion, and viability, however, there are some concerns on its suitability for assessment of myocardial perfusion in patients after coronary artery bypass graft surgery who suffer from recurrent angina. The study of hemodynamic forces offers a promising tool for further understanding of the interplay between the myocardium and blood as well as the mechanisms of cardiac filling. This work represents a retrospective follow up study of CMR data, available on CMR-database, from 112 patients with previous coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) performed around 10 years before the initial CMR examination. The study subjects underwent stress CMR testing; using both stressors; dobutamine and adenosine (done on two separate occasions). Injection of gadolinium contrast medium for late gadolinium enhancement was done with adenosine stress testing for late gadolinium enhancement (LGE). Offline analysis of these data will be done with the use of dedicated software for assessment for myocardial ischemia together with quantitative measurements of the hemodynamic forces with the help of dedicated software (QStrain version 1.3.0.79; Medis, Leiden, the Netherlands).

Prediction of Coronary Artery Disease Severity by Epicardial Adipose Tissue Thickness

Myocardial Infarction

is to test the hypotheses that epicardial adipose tissue can be a marker of severity of coronary artery disease in myocardial infarction patients

Adipokines of Epicardial Adipose Tissue and Atherosclerosis of Coronary Arteries

Coronary AtherosclerosisAdipokines

The aim of the study is to investigate whether the expression and production of adipokines secreted by the epicardial adipose tissue correlate with the degree of coronary atherosclerosis.

Influence of EPICardial Adipose Tissue in HEART Diseases: EPICHEART Study

Coronary Artery DiseaseCoronary Arteriosclerosis3 more

This translational study was designed to explore the association of the quantity and quality of epicardial adipose tissue (EAT) with coronary artery disease (CAD), left atrial remodeling and postoperative atrial fibrillation in a high cardiovascular disease-risk population. The investigators expect to identify new biochemical factors and biomarkers in the crosstalk between the epicardial adipocytes, coronary plaques and atrial cardiomyocytes that are involved in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis and atrial fibrillation, respectively.

IPD Meta-analysis of De-escalation Treatment Strategy After PCI in ACS

Acute Coronary SyndromeCoronary Artery Disease

We will perform a systemic review of previously published data and an updated patient-level meta-analysis of studies, including the most recent publications. PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, the United States National Institutes of Health registry of clinical trials, and relevant websites were searched for pertinent published studies.

Coronary Artery Disease

Overcrowding in the emergency department is an increasing problem in hospitals worldwide. Point-of-care Troponin (POC cTn) testing combined with a well investigated risk stratification tool (HEART-score) used in the ambulance may contribute to more rapidly diagnostics of ruling in or ruling out myocardial infarctions (MI) and subsequently reduce unnecessary hospital admissions, total admission time and costs. However, the applicability of the POC cTn and the HEART-score in the pre-hospital setting remains unclear. This study will evaluate this applicability.

EUROpean Coronary microCirculatory Resistance and Absolute Flow Trial

Microvascular AnginaMicrovascular Coronary Artery Disease2 more

Rationale: coronary microvascular disease is a relatively 'new' entity within the field of cardiology. The investigators are able to investigate the microcirculation by measurements performed in the catheterization laboratory. But even though measurements are performed on a daily basis, a lot of questions regarding microvascular disease remain. The rationale of this registry is to get an overview of patients and measurement values in daily routine practice. Objective and main endpoint: No previous registries have been set-up where coronary blood flow and resistance was systematically stored. Therefore the analyses will be mainly descriptive. The objective is to acquire a better insight in the indications and use of this technique in everyday practice , its consequences for clinical decision making, and to enable interventionalists to exchange mutual knowledge about this specific methodology and about the coronary microcirculation in general. Study design: prospective registry Study population: All patients who underwent coronary angiography with or without coronary intervention for any reason and if an indication for the foreseen intracoronary physiologic measurements is present according to the discretion of the operator. Intervention (if applicable): none, only usage of measurement data. The only 'intervention' for all patients is a questionnaire.
