The structural/RSN study involves Structural and Resting State Neuroimaging. The purpose of Structural Neuroimaging is to use MRI technology to identify cortical and white matter morphometric differences between patients with chronic pain conditions and healthy control subjects. The purpose of the Resting State Neuroimaging study is to use functional MRI to identify possible disease related differences in various resting state networks in the brain. In addition we are looking at the effect gut microbiota on brain function in healthy and IBS participants. The overall goal is to identify structural and functional brain differences in persons with chronic pain conditions such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS, Cyclical Vomiting Syndrome(CVS) and vestibulodynia/vulvodynia. We are also looking at Inflammatory Bowel Disease(ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease. We will be comparing differences between these conditions and matched healthy control subjects.

Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) encompasses two major forms of chronic intestinal disorders, Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis (UC). Diagnosis is based on several macroscopic and histologic features including patterns of inflammation, crypt abscesses and granulomas. Confocal laser endomicroscopy (CLE) is rapidly emerging as a valuable tool for gastrointestinal endoscopic imaging, enabling the endoscopist to obtain an "optical biopsy" of the gastrointestinal mucosa during the endoscopic procedure. The main objective of this study is to determine endomicroscopic features of mucosal healing in patients with IBD.

The purpose of this study for children with a new diagnosis of Crohn's disease is to identify biomarkers found in the blood or stool to help predict which children are at risk of developing complications.

The purpose of this study is to understand the safety and effectiveness of infliximab when used in clinical practice. This is a post-marketing surveillance study.

This clinical trial hypothesize that Gut Microbiota (bacteria, viruses, fungi)play a major role in the occurrence and progression of many chronic gastrointestinal diseases like Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Inflammatory Bowel Diseases and Colo-Rectal Cancer. Hence, aims to study the spectrum of such microbiota in these patients as compared to normal subjects, by utilizing metagenomic techniques rather than cultural methods.

The project is based on adult and paediatric cohorts among the largest ones in Paris and located at Saint Louis and Robert Debré hospitals. Experiments will be performed at INSERM Unit U843 in collaboration with the department of immunology and statistics, Robert Debré Hospital.
