Propolis in Reducing Dentin Hypersensitivity
Dentin SensitivityObjective: This randomized, double-blind, parallel, placebo-controlled clinical trial aims to evaluate the effect of propolis with two distinct concentrations (10% and 15%), and the impact on volunteers' quality of life. Materials and methods: Volunteers meeting the inclusion and exclusion criteria will be randomized and allocated into three groups: Group 1- placebo - toothpaste without active ingredient, Group 2- toothpaste with 10% propolis and Group 3. - toothpaste with 15% propolis. Number of teeth will be used as sample unit, totaling 22 teeth per group. Volunteers will receive oral hygiene instruction with guidance to brush their teeth three times a day with toothpaste corresponding to the groups in which they will be allocated for 30 days. The evaluation of dentin hypersensitivity will be performed with three (3) evaluation times: baseline (immediately before the beginning of treatment), 15 and 30 days, through tactile and evaporative stimuli, using the visual analog scale (VAS). The self-reported evaluation of the volunteers will be done through a questionnaire before the beginning and after one month with the completion of the research to determine the impact of treatment on their quality of life. The data regarding HD in VAS, if present normal distribution, will be used Two-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) with Tukey's post hoc for comparison between treatments. However, if the data show anormal distribution, Friedman to compare the different times in the same group (intra group), and Kruskal Wallis to make the comparison between groups (inter group). To evaluate the QEHD ordinal data, Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney tests will be used. Bioestat 5.3 (Belém, Pará, Brazil) will be used, considering an alpha level of 5%.
Comparison of Dentin Hypersensitivity Reduction Over a 1-month Period

Seventy teeth were randomly assigned to three groups: Gluma (n = 24); fluoride varnish (n = 23); and Tetric N-Bond adhesive (n = 23). Sensitivity to tactile, air blast, and cold stimuli were investigated.. A visual analogue scale was used to assess tactile stimuli, and the Schiff Cold Scale to assess air blast and cold stimuli. DH was evaluated immediately post-treatment, and at the 2-week and 1-month follow-up. Between-group and within-group comparisons were made.
A Comparison of Long-Term Effectiveness of Two Desensitizing Products
Dentin HypersensitivityThis randomized, controlled, clinical trial aimed to compare the 6- month clinical performance of a desensitizer that contains calcium phosphate TM with a two-step self-etch adhesive SE and placebo (distilled water). At least 150 teeth wil be treated with desensitizing products and placebo randomly one third usig TM, one third using SE and one third using placebo. The efficiency of the materials will be evaluated at baseline, 1 week, 1 month, 3 months and 6 months after treatment.

Assessing of Tooth Sensitivity Using Ibuprofen Before in Office-tooth Bleaching
InflammationPulpitisIbuprofen has been recognized as anti-inflammatory and analgesic. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of ibuprofen 400 mg on tooth sensitivity (TS) caused by in-office bleaching. Methods: 30 health adults who received either placebo or ibuprofen. The drugs were administered 1 hour prior to the bleaching and will be prescribed 5 doses every 8 hours during 48 hours. For bleaching will be used 35% hydrogen peroxide gel. The tooth sensitivity will be recorded for up and lower arc on two scales: VAS (visual analogic scale) and 0-4. The shade evaluation will be performed before and 30 days after bleaching with visual shade guide and spectrophotometer.
Longevity and Effectiveness of Bleaching in Healthy and Smokers Patients
Dentin SensitivityThe main objective of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness and longevity of color and Tooth sensitivity of patients undergoing home whitening peroxide 10% carbamide ( Whiteness Perfect , FGM , Joinville , Santa Catarina , Brazil) , and the relationship with the cigarette use for tooth whitening. They will be selected 120 patients with incisors darker than A2, higher plants will be divided into 2 groups per center (n = 30 ) , GE - Group Experimental ( smoking) and GC - Group Control ( non-smoking) . For the two groups will be used Carbamide peroxide 10% for 3 hours daily for a period of 3 weeks. Color will evaluated through the Vita Classical scale and Vita Easyshade Spectrophotometer in the periods: Home , for tooth whitening (1st , 2nd and 3rd week) and post- whitening ( 1 week and 1 month , 2 and 3 months). Patients recorded the perceived sensitivity through Numerical Analogue Scale (NRS ) with values from 0 to 4, where 0 = no sensation, 1 = mild, 2 = moderate, 3 = severe and 4 = significant , also in the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS ), with values from 0 to 10 where 0 = 10 = severe tenderness and sensitivity. for color analysis will be made two-way ANOVA (group vs. treatment time ), being Over time the repeated measure ( α = 0.05). Test will be held on Tukey to contrast the average ( α = 0.05). The sensitivity will be evaluated by the Fisher exact test . It is expected that there is no difference on the effectiveness of home whitening and tooth sensitivity between smokers and nonsmokers.

Hydrogen Peroxide AllergyBackground: The administration of the intra-oral drugs was not capable of reducing this side effect, maybe the use of two analgesics may to present better analgesic effect to avoid the bleaching-induced tooth sensitivity (TS). Methods: A triple-blind, parallel-randomized clinical trial was conducted with 114 health patients who received either a placebo or an association of ketorolac tromethamine/acetaminophen. The first doses of two analgesic (Acetaminophen 750 mg/ Ketorolac Tromethamine 10 mg) or placebo was administered 1 h before the in-office bleaching (35% hydrogen peroxide), and extra doses were administered every 8 h for 48 h. The TS was recorded using 0-10 visual analog scale and a 0-4 numeric rating scale in different periods: during bleaching and from 1 h up to 6h, from 12 h up to 18h, from 18h up to 24 h, from 24h up to 48 h post-bleaching. The color was measured before and one month after dental bleaching with a visual shade guide Vita Classical, Vita Bleachedguide 3D-Master and spectrophotometer Vita Easyshade (Vita Zahnfabrik). The absolute risk of TS was evaluated by Fisher's exact test. Data of TS intensity with NRS scale of the two groups were compared with Mann-Whitney and Friedman tests, while data from the VAS scale were evaluated by two-way repeated measures ANOVA and Tukey's test for pairwise comparison. The color changes between groups were compared using a Student t-test (α = 0.05).
