Hand Dermatitis in the Care and Hospital Staff
Hand DermatosesStudy of the prevalence and risk factors of occupational dermatitis in the hands of caregivers and hospital staff of the Brest CHRU.

Identifying Genetic Determinants of Eczema Herpeticum and Other Viral Infections in Individuals...
Atopic DermatitisPeople with atopic dermatitis (AD), or eczema, are susceptible to skin infections and inflammations. Some individuals with AD develop a condition known as eczema herpeticum (EH) following exposure to the herpes simplex virus (HSV). The purpose of this study is to identify the genetic determinants that lead people with AD to develop EH and similar conditions caused by other viruses.

A Reminder App to Reduce Radiation Dermatitis Rates in Patients With Head-and-Neck Cancer
Radiation DermatitisRadiation-induced Oral MucositisThe goal of this randomized trial is to investigate whether the addition of a reminder app to standard care leads to a reduction of dermatitis and oral mucositis during radio(chemo)therapy for locally advanced squamous cell carcinoma of the head-and-neck (SCCHN). The primary endpoint is the rate of patients experiencing grade ≥2 radiation dermatitis at 60 Gy of radiotherapy. 80 patients are required per arm within the full analysis set. Taking into account that 5% of patients will not qualify for full analysis set, 168 patients should be randomized. If the addition of a reminder app to standard care will result in a significant reduction of radiation toxicity, it could become a helpful tool for these patients.

Suspicion of Non IgE-mediated Cow's Milk Protein Allergy: Prevalence and Evolution
Food Allergy in InfantsProctocolitis4 moreCow's milk protein allergy (CMPA) is often evoked in infants, in particular in front of delayed symptoms such as rectal bleeding, atopic dermatitis, excessive crying, reflux, failure to thrive... But in case of non IgE-mediated CMPA, the only way to diagnose this allergy is to proceed to an elimination-reintroduction test over a period of 2 to 4 weeks, to improve symptoms first, and then provoke them. Even if the diagnosis is confirmed, we speculate that non IgE-mediated CMPA has a faster resolution than other CMPA. The first aim of this study is to estimate the prevalence of non IgE-mediated CMPA in a cohort of infants with delayed symptoms which could be relied to a CMPA. The second goal is evaluate the age of tolerance in non IgE-mediated CMPA with oral food challenge for milk ever 2 months after 4 months of age.

Evaluation of the Role of IgE Responses to Der p 1 and Der p 2 in Chinese House Dust Mite-Allergic...
AsthmaAllergic Rhinitis2 moreOne hundred patients were enrolled, based on sensitization and doctor-diagnosed allergy to HDM. Questionnaires were administered to document demographic and clinical characteristics. Serum IgE reactivity toDermatophagoides pteronyssinus (Dp) extract, Der p 1, Der p 2 and Der p 10 was measured by ImmunoCAP.

Atopic Dermatitis (AD) and Food Allergy
Atopic Dermatitis (AD)Non-atopic Healthy ControlsThis is a prospective, single center, clinical mechanistic pilot clinical research study. Participants will not receive any investigational agent. The investigators will examine whether children with atopic dermatitis (AD) and food allergy have a different skin barrier, microbiome, epidermal transcriptome, and epidermal lipid composition than children with AD and no food allergy and non-atopic (NA) children. Participation involves a single study visit.

Insulin Sensitivity in Patients With Atopic Dermatitis
Atopic Dermatitis/EczemaType 2 DiabetesThe incidence of atopic dermatitis and type 2 diabetes, respectively, has increased over many years. Novel research shows an association between the two conditions. While this relationship at least in theory can be explained by lifestyle factors, there is reason to believe that other pathophysiological mechanisms are involved. Hence, our hypothesis is that patients with atopic dermatitis are insulin resistant due to their chronic inflammatory state. Insulin resistance might play an unknown part in the increased frequency of type 2 diabetes among patients with atopic dermatitis. In the present project, the investigators aim to measure insulin sensitivity by means of the 'golden standard' hyperinsulinaemic euglycaemic clamp in patients suffering from atopic dermatitis compared to a healthy control group (matched case-control study). The project is a close collaboration between The Department of Dermatology and Allergy and Center for Diabetes Research at Gentofte Hospital.

BM Collection From NICU Infants for Composition
Diaper DermatitisThe primary objective of this study is to collect feces from premature infants over a five weeks period to characterize its composition. Metabolomics, Proteomics, Genomics and Microbiome analyses and cell-based assays will be performed to identify individual components present in feces, which may contribute to the onset of irritation in the diapered area of premature infants.

The Significance of Ambrosia in Allergic Rhinitis and Asthma in Israel
Allergic RhinitisAsthma2 moreAmbrosia is known for its allergenicity in the USA causing hay fever and asthma. Israel has always been considered "clean" of Ambrosia but over the past years growth of Ambrosia plants has been detected in several locations in Israel. In the proposed study, patients referred for routine allergic evaluation will also be skin tested with Ambrosia allergens, in addition to their regular prick skin tests with all other airborne allergens.

Retinol-induced Dermatitis in Aged Skin
Aged SkinPhotoaged SkinTopical therapy with retinoids is the only proven medical therapy for aged/photoaged human skin. However, topical therapy with retinoids often result in unwanted cutaneous dermatitis, including erythema and scaling. The reseachers intend to investigate the dose, frequency of use, and time dependence of topical retinol-induced dermatitis. The researchers intend to evaluate retinoid-induced dermatitis biochemically, including retinol regulation of retinoid responsive genes that control retinoid metabolism and serve as markers for retinoid bioactivity. The researchers will also investigate the role of EGF receptor pathway in retinoid-induced dermatitis.
