Multiple Dose Escalation Trial Of PF-04603629 Given To Subjects With Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

Diabetes MellitusType 2

PF-04603629 is being investigated for the treatment of Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Specifically, PF-04603629 is a protein that is a combination of exendin-4 (a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) mimetic currently marketed as Byetta®) fused to human transferrin (a naturally occuring protein) in order to increase the concentration of exendin-4 in the blood. The purpose of this study is to characterize the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics of PF-04603629 following multiple escalating subcutaneous doses in adult subjects with T2DM.

Dose Range Finding Study of MK-0941 in Patients With Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus on Insulin (MK-0941-007...

Diabetes MellitusType 2

The purpose of this study is to test the effect of MK-0941 as add-on therapy for participants taking insulin for type 2 diabetes mellitus. The primary hypotheses of this study are that treatment with MK-0941 added to insulin will provide greater reduction in hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) level than will placebo added to insulin at 14 weeks, and that MK-0941 will be well-tolerated at 1 or more doses that demonstrate efficacy.

Multicenter Research Study to Build a Repository to Study Chronic Diseases in Indiana

Diabetes Mellitus Type II

Blood samples and health information (e.g., age at diagnosis, test results) are collected for the purposes of genetic research. The blood samples are assigned a number and stored in a repository for safe keeping until they are needed for a research project. Participants are persons who are healthy (not having high blood pressure, diabetes, or high cholesterol levels) or persons who have Diabetes Mellitus Type II(T2D) and live in Indiana. Participants complete a questionnaire at the time the blood sample is drawn. Visits are repeated at 2 and 5 years after initial contact. Researchers apply to the Fairbanks Institute for use of the blood samples and health information minus participant names and contact information. Their research is required to be related to find genes or substances made by genes that may be involved in Diabetes Mellitus Type II with the purpose of improving the investigators understanding of the illness potentially leading to the development of new diagnostic tools for identifying the illness, new treatments,or preventative measures.

Efficacy and Safety of Cycloset® Compared With Placebo When Added to Metformin

Type 2 Diabetes

The purpose of this study is to investigate the efficacy and safety of Cycloset® and placebo when added to metformin monotherapy (at least 1000 mg/day for 3 months prior to screening) in persons with type 2 diabetes mellitus who are not adequately controlled on metformin therapy alone.

Diabetes MellitusType 2

This study will assess the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics (explores what the body does to the drug), and pharmacodynamics (explores what a drug does to the body) of multiple doses of JNJ-38431055 in volunteers with type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Safety and Efficacy of Inhaled Insulin in Type 2 Diabetes

DiabetesDiabetes Mellitus1 more

This trial is conducted in Asia, Europe and South America. The aim of this research is to compare the efficacy (reduction in HbA1c and blood glucose) and pulmonary safety (pulmonary function tests, chest x-rays) of mealtime inhaled insulin with subcutaneous insulin aspart both in combination with insulin detemir in Type 2 Diabetes.

GALLANT 22 Tesaglitazar vs. Placebo

Type 2 Diabetes

This is a 24-week randomized, double-blind, parallel-group, multi-center, placebo-controlled study of tesaglitazar (0.5 and 1 mg) in patients with type 2 diabetes, not adequately controlled on diet and lifestyle advice alone during the run-in period. The study comprises a 6-week single-blind placebo run-in period, followed by 24-week treatment period and a 3-week follow-up period. The study design of GALLANT 2 is identical to GALLANT 22; the blinded study data from GALLANT 2 will be transferred to the GALLANT 22 database and will be analyzed together with the data from GALLANT 22 clinical study.

Diabetes MellitusType 2

This is a parallel-group, multi-center, long-term extension study from the GALLANT 6 study to monitor the safety and tolerability of oral tesaglitazar compared with pioglitazone in patients with type 2 diabetes for up to 104 weeks of treatment. The total duration, including treatment and follow-up, is 107 weeks.
