Mechanisms of Hypoglycemia Associated Autonomic Dysfunction Question 2
Type 1 DiabetesThe purpose of this study is to determine the way by which Alprazolam (Xanax) an anti-anxiety drug affects specialized molecules in your brain called GABA (A) receptors that alter your body's ability to defend itself from low blood sugar (hypoglycemia). We hypothesize that prior activation of GABA (A) receptors may result in blunting of counterregulatory responses during subsequent hypoglycemia and exercise.

The Effect of Online Based Mentoring Program on the Blood Glucose and Satisfaction Score in Type...
Type 1 DiabetesPurpose: To evaluate the effects of online based mentoring program on the blood glucose and satisfaction score in type 1 diabetes patients. Peer group mentoring will be as effective as guidance by the doctors. Methods: 80 type 1 patients will be randomly divided into two groups (e.g. mentoring program group and control group). All patients will receive routine check up and blood test for ordinary type 1 patients. In addition, program group patients should register their SMBG, exercise, food intake and insulin dose on the website designed for this study and receive advices of mentors from peer group. Every patient will submit questionnaire on the first day of the study and the last day(after 12 weeks) of the study.

Comparison of Two Basal Insulin Therapies for Patients With Type 1 Diabetes
Diabetes MellitusType 1The purpose of this study is to examine the efficacy and safety of insulin lispro protamine suspension (ILPS) as compared to insulin detemir as basal insulin combined with mealtime insulin therapy in patients with type 1 diabetes. A gatekeeper strategy will be employed for sequentially testing the secondary objectives.
Six Month Clinical Trial Assessing Efficacy and Safety of Inhaled Insulin in Type 1 Diabetes
Diabetes MellitusType 1To determine in subjects with Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus: Whether glycemic control can be achieved at least as effectively with a) an intensive insulin regimen involving pre-meal inhaled insulin plus twice daily subcutaneous NPH insulin as with b) an intensive subcutaneous insulin regimen involving pre-meal regular insulin plus twice daily NPH, given as 4 injections per day. The treatment regimens differ only by the route of delivery of the short acting insulin. The toleration and safety of inhaled insulin therapy and its effects after 6months, if any, on measures of pulmonary function.
Safety of Insulin Detemir Produced by a New Process as Measured by Antibody Formation in Subjects...
DiabetesDiabetes Mellitus1 moreThe trial was conducted in Germany, The Republic of Macedonia, Russian Federation, Serbia and South Africa. The aim of this trial was to make a safety comparison of insulin detemir produced by a new production method (NN729) with insulin detemir made by the previous production method (NN304). Subjects were treated with NN729 or NN304 for a period of 52 weeks at the same total daily dose and frequency of administration as their own pre-trial basal insulin . During the trial doses were individualised based on subject's plasma glucose measurements.
