Diabetic Foot Ulcer

The purpose of this study is to develop a short message-based customized standardized diabetic foot ulcer patient education program, and to test the effect of the program on diabetic foot ulcer self-management behavior, self-efficacy, wound prognosis, and quality of life. The short message-based customized standardized patient education program combines several smartphone message-based standardized educational contents to construct a customized patient education program which is according to the needs of patients, thus providing individualized patient education in a timely manner

Study to Assess the Safety of DERMASEAL for Diabetic Foot Ulcers

The goal of this clinical trial is to determine the safety of DERMASEAL for the treatment of non-healing, neuropathic diabetic foot ulcers. The main outcome measure is safety. A total of twenty-four (24) participants will be randomized to receive up to four (4) consecutive weeks of treatment with either standard of care (SOC), plasma film + SOC, or plasma film containing silver microparticles (DERMASEAL) + SOC, with a final follow-up visit 12 weeks after the last treatment.

THE EFFECT OF ONLINE TRAINING ON FOOT CARE

The aim of this study is to determine the effect of online trainings on diabetic foot care on foot care behavior and self-efficacy attitudes of individuals with type II diabetes. Purpose in accordance with the patient's Diagnostic Information Form, diabetic foot care self-efficacy Scale(DABOO), foot care Behavior Scale(ABDO) and diabetic foot risk screening forms are available in the data collection tools; education and Research Hospital Internal Medicine outpatient clinic with Deeply Izmit Seka state hospital, inpatient or outpatient treatment for persons with Type II diabetes who agree to volunteer to participate in research 90 shall apply. After that, the groups will be divided into two groups by randomization, and one of the groups will be given training sessions consisting of min 20 max 40 minutes for diabetic foot care in 5 sessions for nine weeks. After the training, the scales will be applied to the groups again. The data obtained before and after the training will be compared statistically in a computer environment

The Effect of Nurse-Led Diabetic Foot Self-Management Training Program

Diabetic foot is one of the most important chronic complications of Diabetes Mellitus (DM), which is a global health problem today. Diabetic foot not only affects the individual's quality of life, body image, role performance, and social and economic structure of the family and society but also creates a serious burden on the individual's family and health system. Therefore, some approaches that include foot and nail care, shoe and sock(s) selection, nutrition, and exercise practices are recommended to prevent diabetic foot and to increase functional capacity, without the need for surgical treatment. It is crucial to maintain these recommended approaches throughout the patient's life to ensure effective management of the diabetic foot. This study aims to determine the effect of the nurse-led diabetic foot self-management training program on diabetic foot knowledge, foot care behavior, and self-efficacy level in patients with type 2 DM. This study was planned in a randomized controlled design. The population of the study will consist of type 2 DM patients who do not use insulin therapy and who applied to University of Health Sciences Diskapi Yildirim Beyazit Training and Research Hospital Diabetes outpatient clinic and Diabetes Education outpatient clinic between September 2022 and September 2023. According to the power analysis, 38 participants are targeted to be reached in total. Data will be collected with a Personal Information Form, Diabetic Foot Information Scale, Foot Care Behavior Scale, Diabetic Foot Care Self-Efficacy Scale, and Diabetic Foot Evaluation Form. As a result of this study, it is expected that the nurse-led diabetic foot self-management training program will increase the diabetic foot knowledge, foot care behavior and self-efficacy levels of diabetic foot knowledge, foot care behavior, and self-efficacy level in patients with type 2 DM.

The goal of this clinical trial is to follow the progress of wounds in those with venous leg ulcers and diabetic foot ulcers while using an absorbent dressing called Mepilex Up. The main objective is to follow the progress of these wounds over time from initial visit to each follow-up visit. Participants will be asked to wear Mepilex Up dressing for up to 6 weeks of treatment or until healed, changed at every one-week interval.

Effectiveness of Remote Foot Temperature Monitoring

Diabetic Foot

Diabetic foot ulcers are common, debilitating, and costly complications of diabetes, disproportionately impacting Black and rural Veterans. Forty percent of individuals have an ulcer recurrence within a year of ulcer healing and 65% within 5 years. Monitoring plantar foot temperatures is one of the few interventions that reduces the risk of ulcer recurrence. Despite the evidence, adoption has been poor because the original procedures, including the use of handheld thermometers, were burdensome and time-consuming. Podimetrics, a private company, has developed a temperature monitoring system involving a "smart" mat that can wirelessly transmit data and a remote monitoring team that works with VA providers to assist with triage and monitoring. This care model has incredible promise, but has been untested in VA. The investigators propose to conduct a randomized trial to evaluate effectiveness of remote temperature monitoring as well as costs. Additionally, the investigators will evaluate the implementation process, including barriers and facilitators to use among key stakeholders.

The Sham Operation Group was used as control, the patients were assessed with the Digital Rating Scale (NRS) , the quality of life-related scale (Euro Qol) , clinical outcome measures: physician's overall impression of changes in pain (CGIC) and patient's overall impression change scale (PGIC) , skin temperature measurement, toe Oxygenation measurement, and anxiety and depression scores (Gad-7, Phq-9) , objective: to evaluate the efficacy and safety of high voltage pulsed radiofrequency in the treatment of peripheral neuralgia in patients with diabetic foot.
