Treatment of Depression With Quetiapine
Major Depression With Psychotic FeaturesThe purpose of this study is to examine the mood stabilizing and antipsychotic properties of quetiapine in the treatment of depression by comparing subjects who were randomly assigned to either quetiapine monotherapy, quetiapine and citalopram; or haloperidol and citalopram. We hypothesize that quetiapine monotherapy would have similar effects to the combination of a first generation antipsychotic plus an antidepressant for the treatment of a major depressive episode with psychosis.

NASCITA Italian Birth Cohort Study
Social Determinants of HealthHealth Knowledge7 moreThe NASCITA study (NAscere e creSCere in ITAlia) was created to improve the understanding of the health status of Italian children early on and how it is affected by social and health determinants. The study will evaluate physical, cognitive, and psychological development, and health status and health resource use during the first six years of life in a group of newborns, as well as potential associated factors. The association between the well-being of children and parental adherence to the recommendations for better child care and development will also be assessed. Information on the children will be collected by paediatricians mostly during routine visits. The findings will be used in the development of specific prevention measures and interventions to improve the health of children, in particular more vulnerable ones.
Implementation, Efficacy and Costs of Inpatient Equivalent Home-Treatment in German Mental Health...
Mental DisorderPersonality Disorders4 moreThe "inpatient-equivalent home treatment"(IEHT) according to §115d SGB-V is a particular version of the internationally well-known and evidence-based Home Treatment. As a complex intervention, IEHT requires a multi-method evaluation on different levels in the German context. The AKtiV study that is financed by the Innovation Fund of the Federal Joint Committee (proposal ID: VSF2_2019-108) meets this request. In this quasi-experimental study with a propensity score-matched control group, we assess and combine quantitative and qualitative data. Outcome parameters include classical clinical ones such as hospital readmission rates, mental state, and recovery outcomes. In addition, it evaluates issues concerning the right target population, treatment processes, implementation strategies, and factors associated with positive outcomes. The study takes into account the perspective of patients, relatives, staff as well as decision makers in politics and administration. Therefore, we expect the results to be relevant for a broad audience and to contribute to further refinement and adaption of the model.
