Peri-Incisional Drug Injection in Lumbar Spine Surgery
Lumbar Disc HerniationDegenerative Disc Disease1 moreThis is a randomized prospective study that will compare the use of narcotics in a control group of non-injected patients with a treatment arm of patients injected intra-operatively with a ropivacaine, morphine, and epinephrine cocktail. The investigators hypothesize that this treatment will reduce narcotic use in patients during their hospital stay, and possibly decrease the length of their stay in the hospital. The investigators also hope their pain will be decreased as displayed by their multi-daily Clinically Aligned Pain Assessment (CAPA) score.
Trial to Show Non-inferiority / Superiority of an Endoscopic Transforaminal Discectomy to Standard...
Lumbar Disc HerniationThis study compares an endoscopic transforaminal surgical technique for the treatment of a herniated disc to the standard microsurgical procedure. Clinical parameters as well as health economy will be assessed. The study hypothesis is that the endoscopic approach is equivalent or superior to microdiscectomy.
The Effect of Progressive Relaxation Exercise on Pain and Kinesiophobia After Lumbar Disc Herniation...
Lumbar Disc HerniationWe aimed to assess the influence of progressive muscle relaxation exercise on kinesiophobia and pain during after lumbar disc surgery using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) and the Tampa Kinesiophobia Scale in a prospective, randomized fashion.
The Effect of Expressive Touch and Music Applied After Lumbar Disc Hernia Surgery.
Lumbar Disc HerniationPatients undergoing lumbar hernia surgery will be divided into expressive touch, music and control groups. Pre-test and post-test pain levels, vital signs, and NIRS values of the patients will be measured.
Effect of Feedback Health Education on Postoperative Rehabilitation of Patients With Lumbar Disc...
Lumbar Disc HerniationAims and Objective: A theoretical model based on guided postoperative rehabilitation with feedback was developed for patients with lumbar intervertebral disc protrusion to explore the effects of feedback-based health education. Patients were assessed in terms of disease knowledge, general self-efficacy, medical behaviour, and the Oswestry disability index (ODI). During postoperative rehabilitation, nursing staff provided health education regarding lumbar intervertebral disc protrusion.
Bilateral Sacroiliac Joint (SIJ) Injection in Lumbar Disc Prolapse
Lumbar Disc HerniationSciatica3 moreBilateral sacroiliac joint injection in symptomatic lumbar disc prolapse under ultrasound guidance and studying the effect of this technique on pain, spine mobility and activity of daily living.
Quantitative Sensory Testing and PET/CT Scanning in Assessment of Surgical Outcome for Lumbar Disc...
Lumbar Disc HerniationRadiculopathy LumbarPatients with lumbar disc herniation suffer from pain and morbidity. Surgical intervention can be a quick and effective relief, however some individuals experience less favorable outcome. This study tries to investigate and test the differences in pain perception and pain modulation between individuals. Using PET/CT scans the investigators try to visualize pain perception and -modulation in the CNS. This is subsequently correlated with a battery of pain tests and the surgical outcome of disc herniation surgery.
The Effect of Mobilization Protocol Assisted With Simulated Clinical Immersion Videos on Patients...
Lumbar Spine SurgeryLumbar Disc HerniationThis study focused on examining the effect of mobilization protocol assisted with simulated clinical immersion videos on postoperative pain, fear of movement, mobility level and satisfaction in patients undergoing lumbar spine surgery.
KT® in Patients With Cervical Spine Surgery
PainCervical Spinal Stenosis3 moreAim of the study was to investigate the effect of Kinesio taping application on upper trapezius muscle after cervical spine surgery.
High Versus Low Level of Lumbar Traction in Acute Lumbar Sciatica Due to Disc Herniation
Acute Lumbar Sciatica Secondary to Disc HerniationThe aim of this study is to compare two levels (high and low forces) of short term lumbar traction on pain and functional tests of the lower limbs in a specific population of patients presenting with acute lumbar sciatica secondary to disc herniation. The investigators hypothesize that, in this particular medical condition, high level of lumbar traction might be more effective than low level lumbar traction in decreasing the pain associated with acute sciatica.
