The research hypotheses are as follows: H0: There is no significant difference between the intervention group and the control group in the mean score of the "Sexual Development Characteristics Scale of Children with Mentally Retardation in Adolescence" after the sexual health and development trainings given to children with intellectual disabilities. H1: After the sexual health and development trainings given to children with intellectual disabilities, the mean score of the "Sexual Development Characteristics Scale of Children with Intellectual Disability in Adolescence" is significantly higher in the intervention group compared to the control group.

Trial of Cannabidiol to Treat Severe Behavior Problems in Children With Autism
AutismAutism Spectrum DisorderThere are very few treatments that are effective in reducing severe behavioral problems associated with autism. These behaviors include aggressive and self-harm behaviors, frequent repetitive behaviors and severe hyperactivity. This study is being conducted to determine whether cannabidiol can reduce any or all of these problem behaviors.
Validating Promoted Spiritual Experience
AddictionPsychiatric DisorderThis pilot study of 16 patients will demonstrate a specific psychologically focused intervention to affect a spiritual aspect of psychological health and will measure (1) its effects on general distress, depression, anxiety and well-being; (2) healing and psychological impact beyond that accounted by usual personality factors; (3) its effect in correlation to measures of spirituality; (4) with neuroimaging, possible biological changes associated with this intervention. A. Objectives Pilot a psychological intervention that impacts a "spiritual" level. Measure efficacy improving well-being beyond explanation by usual personality factors. Identify biological changes with neuroimaging. B. Hypotheses / Research Question(s) Studies demonstrate a healing effect beyond usual psychological and medical health to include a "spiritual" aspect with added experience of wholeness and well-being. Benefits are beyond just symptom relief but methods to achieve this are not well-defined. This study will provide a specific intervention and measure psychological and neuroimaging effects of the intervention. Hypotheses of Specific Results (see Study Instruments below) DASS-21-shows significant decrease in depression, anxiety and overall stress. PCL-5 - shows decrease 5-10 points (5 points=response, 10 points=clinically meaningful). NIH-HEALS - shows significant increase overall and in all 3 factors. WEMWBS - shows increase of greater than 3 points, considered "meaningful change." Contingencies of Self-Worth Scale-shows significant global increase, positively correlated with increase in Mysticism Scale scores with post-intervention total above standardized mean. A relevant portion of outcome improvement on DASS-21, NIH-HEALS, and ASPIRES will NOT be accountable by personality factors measured by NEO-FFI-3. ASPIRES-shows significant increase in transcendence, no change in religious sentiments. Neuroimaging-shows reduced activity in SPL, TPJ, MPFC, and IPL (see Research Significance).

Examining the Impacts on In-School Behaviors of In-Home Videogame Play
Emotional RegulationProblem Behavior1 moreThe proposed study aims to investigate the effects of children's in-home engagement with a biofeedback video game-based intervention on children's in-school behaviors. For the proposed study, families with no prior Mightier exposure will engage in online gameplay for eight weeks. Mightier will recruit families through social media and clinical settings, then Mightier will randomly assign participants to one of two groups: a group in which the child participant is encouraged to play Mightier games with biofeedback elements 45 or more minutes a week, broken into 3 or more sessions a week soon after baseline data have been collected, and a group in which the child participant receives Mightier and is invited to play Mightier games with biofeedback elements after all study baseline and follow-up data have been collected. The investigators will aim to enroll 20 parent-child dyads in each group. Specific Aims and Hypotheses: Demonstrate that child engagement in Mightier biofeedback video games is correlated to child improvement in school behaviors. The investigators hypothesize that teachers of child participants will report reductions in child school behavior challenges after 8 weeks of child Mightier gameplay. Demonstrate that child engagement in Mightier biofeedback video games is correlated to child improvement in at-home behaviors and general improvement in emotion regulation. The investigators hypothesize that parents of child participants will report a reduction in child behavior challenges and improvements in child emotion regulation after 8 weeks of child Mightier gameplay.
Randomized Trial of a Data-driven Technical Assistance System for Drug Prevention Coalitions
Substance UseAdolescent Problem BehaviorThis project is designed to test the Coalition Check-Up (CCU)-a theory-based and data-driven technical assistance (TA) system that supports community coalitions' implementation of evidence-based programs (EBPs) for drug prevention. The primary aims of the project are to: 1) Estimate the impact of the CCU on coalition capacity. Coalitions will be randomly assigned to the CCU or a 'TA as usual' condition to evaluate whether the CCU improves coalition capacity as measured by coalition member reports of team processes, network composition, and collaborative structure. 2) Estimate the impact of the CCU on implementation of evidence-based programs. The study will test the hypothesis that coalitions receiving the CCU will implement EBPs with greater: a) quantity, b) quality, and c) sustainability. The study will also test coalition capacity as a mediator of CCU impact on EBP implementation. 3) Estimate the impact of the CCU on youth substance use. The study will test the hypothesis that communities receiving the CCU will reduce youth substance use relative to communities in the comparison condition. The study will also test EBP implementation as a mediator of CCU impact on youth substance use.

Developmental DelayBehavioural ProblemThe PLUSS (Mental health, learning, development, collaboration around preschool children) is a collaborative project involving guardians, Jönköping County´s health care, preschools and social services. The project studies the implementation of a "One way in"-model that provides coordinated services to screen, evaluate and treat toddlers with behavioral problems. The project also provides parental interventions and education for preschool teachers. The study aims to investigate a) implementation of the PLUSS model, b) effectiveness of the model and the included parental training program on behavioral problem and their longitudinal development among preschool children, c) parental wellbeing and satisfaction. In the long term, the goal is to reduce mental health problems among children, adolescents and their families and to provide support for a functioning everyday life.
