Atopic DermatitisMany people are affected by atopic dermatitis (AD) worldwide. However, clinical studies on AD in Sub-Saharan Africa are rare and there is a lack of knowledge about possible differences in pathogenesis between European and African AD. This study will collect clinical and laboratory data with the aim to compare clinical characteristics and immune responses in AD patients in Sub-Saharan Africa and Central Europe. Furthermore, relevant allergens as well as the nasal, skin and gut micro- and mycobiome will be investigated.

Atopic DermatitisAtopic dermatitis (AD) is a skin condition that may cause a rash and itching due to inflammation of the skin. Therapies spread over the skin may not be enough to control the AD in trial participants who require systemic anti-inflammatory treatment. This study will assess the real-world effectiveness of upadacitinib on adult participants with moderate-to-severe AD who are inadequate responders to dupilumab or who are discontinuing from dupilumab due to safety/tolerability reasons. This study also aims to understand upadacitinib utilization patterns in real-world clinical practice. In Canada, upadacitinib is indicated for the treatment of adults and adolescents 12 years of age and older with refractory moderate to severe atopic dermatitis (AD) who are not adequately controlled with a systemic treatment (e.g., steroid or biologic) or when use of those therapies is inadvisable. CAN UpTIMISE will enroll approximately 100 adult participants, 18 years of age and above, with moderate-to-severe AD who are inadequate responders to dupilumab or are discontinuing from dupilumab from up to 25 sites in Canada. Participants will receive oral upadacitinib tablets as prescribed by the physician prior to enrolling in this study in accordance with the terms of the local marketing authorization and professional and reimbursement guidelines with regards to dose, population, and indication. The overall duration of the study is approximately 4 Months. Participants will attend regular visits per routine clinical practice. The effect of the treatment will be checked by medical assessments, using questionnaires, and reporting potential side-effects.

Moderate-to-severe Atopic EczemaThe TREAT NL (TREatment of ATopic eczema, the Netherlands) registry is a national registry for children and adults with moderate-to-severe atopic eczema aiming to gather data on their prescribed photo- and systemic immunomodulating therapies. Atopic eczema is a common, chronic, itchy, inflammatory skin disease that can have a major impact on the quality of life of patients and their immediate surroundings. Serious atopic eczema patients are treated by means of photo- or systemic immunomodulating therapy. Of these mostly off-label applied therapies, there is insufficient evidence on the short and long term for their effectiveness, safety and cost-effectiveness. Moreover, good comparative research and real-life data are lacking. With the arrival of new expensive treatments it is crucial to get insight into these treatments in order to improve quality of care. By means of a prospective registry these data can be collected and help to obtain information for clinical practice, for answering research questions, for reducing costs and implementing the results by guidelines and decision aids.

Chronic Hand EczemaThis study is a multicentre, double-blinded, randomized, placebo-controlled, clinical trial with open-label extension. The purpose and aim of this study is to investigate the efficacy and safety of roflumilast (PDE4-inhibitor) in adult patients with chronic hand eczema (CHE). Patients will receive 16-week treatment with either roflumilast or placebo tablets. Atopic DermatitisAtopic dermatitis (AD; also known as atopic eczema) is an inflammatory skin disease. The safety and effectiveness of upadacitinib for AD has been well-documented in previous studies, however, these studies included a limited number of adolescent patients in Japan. Therefore, the purpose of this observational study is to evaluate safety and effectiveness of upadacitinib in adolescent AD participants age 12 to <18 years old in Japan in the real-world setting. Upadacitinib is an approved drug being developed for the treatment of AD in adolescents in Japan. Around 170 participants age 12 to <18 who are prescribed upadacitinib for the treatment of AD in routine clinical practice will be enrolled at multiple sites in Japan. Participants will receive oral upadacitinib as prescribed by their physician. Data from these participants will be collected for approximately 2 years. There will be no additional burden for participants in this trial compared to their standard of care. Participants will attend regular visits during the course of the study at a hospital or clinic and will be asked to provide additional information by questionnaire at each visit.
