Effect of Nutritional Formula Supplementation on Growth Rate of Growth Hormone (GH) Treated Children...

IGHD - Isolated Growth Hormone DeficiencyGrowth Retardation

The Proposed study is a double blind, randomized, placebo controlled study The aim of the study is to evaluate the effect of combined Growth Hormone (GH) treatment & nutritional formula supplementation versus GH & placebo on growth parameters in 64 children with Isolated Growth Hormone Deficiency (IGHD) after the 2nd year of GH treatment. In this trial GH is a background treatment (non-investigational medicinal product. Participants may be treated with any of the commercial GH products approved in Israel for the indication of IGHD. Participants will be randomly assigned either to the intervention group or the placebo control group. Randomization for the two study groups will be made in a ratio of 1:1. Both participants and study team will be blinded to the type of treatment that each patient will receive during the study. The randomization will be done according to gender and tanner stage. Participants in the intervention groups will be treated with the study formulas and participants in the control group will be treated with a placebo low caloric formulas (Powder added to water) The study will continue for 6 months of intervention versus active placebo, with additional 6 months (an extension period), in which participants at both groups, the intervention and the placebo, will be offered to continue their participation in the study with the active study supplement.

Efficacy and Safety of Android Artificial Pancreas System in Adult Patients With Type 1 Diabetes...

Diabetes MellitusDiabetes Mellitus6 more

This is a 26-week randomized, free-living, open-label, two-arm, two-phase, crossover trial. Participants will receive two interventions at different phases, including the Android artificial pancreas system(AndroidAPS-rt-CGM) and sensor-augment pump(SAP), and use marketed rapid-acting insulin analogs (insulin Aspart, insulin Lispro, or insulin Glulisine) normally used in their usual clinical care. The safety and efficacy of AndroidAPS-rt-CGM and SAP in adult T1DM with suboptimal glycemic control will be compared to explore whether the use of AndroidAPS-rt-CGM in adult T1DM with suboptimal glycemic control will be associated with better glycemic control with no increased hypoglycemia.

PaTHway CHINA TRIAL: A Trial to Investigating the Safety, Tolerability and Efficacy of TransCon...

HypoparathyroidismParathyroid Hormone Deficiency2 more

This study is limited to conduct in China only. The primary objective is to assess the treatment effect of daily TransCon PTH on serum calcium (sCa) levels within the normal range and stopping from therapeutic doses of active vitamin D (calcitriol) or active vitamin D analogue (alfacalcidol) and calcium at 26 weeks of treatment. All subjects will start with 18 mcg of study drug and will be individually and progressively titrated to an optimal dose over a 26-week double blind period, followed by an open label extension period up to 156 weeks. TransCon PTH or placebo will be administered as a subcutaneous injection using a pre-filled injection pen. Neither trial participants nor their doctors will know who has been assigned to each group. After the 26 weeks, participants will continue in the trial as part of a long-term extension study. During the extension, all participants will receive TransCon PTH, with the dose adjusted to their individual needs.

Evaluation of the Safety and Efficacy of Eneboparatide (AZP-3601) in Patients With Chronic Hypoparathyroidism...

Chronic HypoparathyroidismEndocrine System Diseases1 more

This study is investigating the safety and efficacy of eneboparatide (AZP-3601) in patients with chronic hypoparathyroidism (cHP). During the first 24 weeks of the trial, participants will be randomized to receive eneboparatide or placebo. Study treatment is blinded: patients and doctors will not know which group each patient has been randomized to. All patients will start with a fixed dose of study treatment (eneboparatide or placebo), administered subcutaneously with a pre-filled pen. Study treatment will be individually titrated. After completion of the first 24 weeks, patients will be treated in the open label extension part of the study for 28 weeks. During this phase, all patients (including patients that were in the placebo group) will receive eneboparatide.

RT-CGM in Young Adults at Risk of DKA

Diabetes MellitusDiabetes Mellitus5 more

Pilot study to evaluate the effect of real time continuous glucose monitoring (RT-CGM) on young-adults with insulin-treated diabetes, who are defined as high risk due to suboptimal HbA1c (blood glucose control) or a history of hospital admissions for high blood glucoses. Hypothesis: RT-CGM provided to young adults with suboptimal blood glucose control, has a beneficial impact on HbA1c and hospital admissions for high blood glucoses. We will use data from this pilot work to inform a larger powered study to address this knowledge gap.
