Electroacupuncture and Solifenacin for Urgency-predominant Mixed Urinary Incontinence

Mixed Urinary IncontinenceUrgency-predominant Mixed Urinary Incontinence

The study is to determine the effect of electroacupuncture in female patients with urgency-predominant mixed urinary incontinence. A three-arm non-inferior randomized controlled trial (RCT) using electroacupuncture, sham electroacupuncture and solifenacin with a total sample of 282 is proposed. The hypothesis is that the improvement (difference in number of urgency urinary incontinence episodes between baseline and 12-week evaluation) in the electroacupuncture group would be 50% or less of the difference in the improvement between the Solifenacin and the sham electroacupuncture groups.

Post-procedural Pain Associated With 5 Versus 20 Intravesical Injections of Onabotulinumtoxin A...

Urinary BladderOveractive7 more

Currently, in clinical practice there has been no standardization in the number of injections a single dose of intradetrusor onabotulinumtoxin A is administered in. Given the increasing use of this treatment modality, the aim of this study is to compare outcomes for patients given a 100 unit dose of onabotulinumtoxin A split into 5 as compared to 20 injections for the treatment of overactive bladder or urgency urinary incontinence refractory to medical treatment.

Effect of Use of DryNites Absorbent Pants on the Rate of Spontaneous Resolution of Paediatric Nocturnal...

Nocturnal Enuresis

Children vary in the age at which they achieve night-time dryness; in almost all cases children will stop bed-wetting without any need for treatment. Use of absorbent pants for the management of nocturnal enuresis is controversial regarding the impact on the speed at which children become dry throughout the night. The aim of this study is to determine the effect of using DryNites absorbent pants in children with monosymptomatic nocturnal enuresis on the speed they become dry throughout the night compared with removing absorbent pants.

BTL Emsella Chair Versus Sham for the Treatment of Stress Urinary Incontinence

Stress Urinary Incontinence

Stress urinary incontinence (SUI) is a condition that affects both men and women. SUI is the involuntary leakage of urine caused by an increase in intra-abdominal pressure from activities such as exercise, coughing, laughing, or sneezing. It can significantly affect quality of life as patients avoid activities or behaviors that cause leakage. This clinical trial will compare the efficacy of the Emsella chair to sham and determine if electromagnetic technology is effective in the treatment of SUI.

Urinary Incontinence

To compare the effects of Pilates exercises versus pelvic floor muscle exercises among elderly women with urinary incontinence. The study is a single-blinded randomized clinical trial. 70 patients(calculated through PASS version 15 software) will be selected. Subjects will be screened whether they met inclusion and exclusion criteria. The participants for this study will be elderly women with urinary incontinence. The participants will be recruited from SIPMR and Civil hospital Karachi. The initial assessment will be done by Medical Consultant. Patients must fulfill inclusion criteria. Consent must be taken from each patient and samples will be collected in the given time frame and patients will be randomly assigned(through a randomization sheet) to the treatment groups. Treatment group 1 will be doing Pilates exercises and treatment group 2 will be doing Pelvic floor muscle exercises. EMS will be given to both treatment groups. A voiding diary, Stamey's urinary incontinence system, and IQOL questionnaire will be used at baseline assessment and at the end of treatment sessions. 12 treatment sessions will be given, 3 visits each week for 4 weeks. The data will be analyzed on SPSS version 21. : Non-probability purposive sampling technique will be used for selecting individuals.
